I was born in Bosnia and spent a number of years in Sarajevo. Exposure to other cultures, through my family background, and later, through travels, have kept certain balance during my "formative years". You Nicole don't really know or understand Sarajevo; your "report" is good for some superficial, touristy brochure. The principal value of the city of Sarajevo, its multiculturalism and, derived from it, its cosmopolitanism, has been eradicated after 1995. Today the "Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina" is not any kind of federation; it's the strongest foothold of the Islamic push into Europe, maintained under the veneer (for the tourists like you) of Europeanism while lavishly financed by Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, ... . On the surface it's a peaceful, democratic society while in fact it has been a very active area of "silent ethnic cleansing", already for decades. The result is what we have today: most of non-Muslims have been expelled (retired, moved, degraded,..., or just emigrated out of the country). The strong and influential Jewish population was pushed away or emigrated. Since 1492 Sarajevo used to be one of the strongest centers of Jewish Sephardim culture in the world, through museums and libraries (the Haggadah scriptures), and by the Ladino language spoken on the streets and markets. In another example, a number of villages south of Sarajevo, Serbian/Orthodox for centuries, have been cleansed and the original population was replaced by imports from Yemen. (For the last 40 years the European Union and the USA administrations have seemingly been oblivious to these facts.) Now, the Yemeni people, brought in from another part of the world and from a cultural background hailing back to the 7th century are the "true Bosniaks" - I and my family (all born in Sarajevo) are not, anymore - and the strong constituents consolidating the Bosniak government position in the application for the European Union membership. Shall not be, ever.

I am a Bosnian Muslim, and no, Turks are not our brothers. Only uneducated Bosnians say that because the media often portrays Turkey as if it "helped" us during the war in the 1990s. What many Bosnians forget is that we were also persecuted because the Ottomans forced Bosnians to convert to Islam.
I love my religion, Islam, and I do not like connecting it with the Turks, because this beautiful religion does not belong to Turkey—it belongs to all people around the world. But that is how I see this part of our history.
During the Ottoman Empire, the Turks killed thousands upon thousands of Bosnians, just as, in my view, their Serbian brothers did. Serbs have Turkish DNA, which is why they are genetically disturbed—just like the Turks.
The Ottomans first killed thousands of Bosnians, massacred them, plundered the country, and sent all the peoples of what is now the former Yugoslavia (Bosnians, Serbs, Croats, and others) to fight and die for the Ottoman Empire. Those who refused were killed on the spot. They also took our children away.
In agreement with the West, two million Yugoslavs (Slavic Muslims of Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian, Montenegrin, and Macedonian origin who had converted to Islam) were expelled to Turkey so that Turkey could increase a particular segment of its population. Today, many of those people are called "Bosniaks" there, even though not all of them came from Bosnia but from across the former Yugoslavia.
Later, during the Austro-Hungarian period, the Austrians also killed and plundered thousands of Bosnians and Croats, and so the suffering continued.
My poor Bosnia—there is hardly anyone who has not killed us or caused us suffering.

Während des Osmanischen Reiches haben Türken ebenfalls Tausende und Abertausende Bosnier getötet, genauso wie ihre Brüder, die Serben. Die Serben haben türkische DNA, deshalb sind sie genetisch gestört – genauso wie die Türken.
Zuerst haben die Türken Tausende Bosnier getötet, abgeschlachtet, das Land ausgeplündert und alle Jugoslawen (Bosnier, Serben, Kroaten usw.) in den Krieg geschickt, damit sie für die Türken kämpfen und sterben. Denn wenn sie nicht gegangen wären, wären sie an Ort und Stelle getötet worden. Sie haben uns unsere Kinder weggenommen.
In Absprache mit dem Westen wurden zwei Millionen Jugoslawen (slawische Menschen – bosnische, serbische, kroatische, montenegrinische und mazedonische konvertierte Muslime) in die Türkei vertrieben, damit die Türken eine bestimmte Bevölkerungsgruppe bekamen.
Danach haben die Österreicher Tausende Bosnier und Kroaten getötet, ausgeplündert … und so weiter.
Meine arme Bosnien – es gibt kaum jemanden, der uns nicht getötet oder uns Leid zugefügt hat.
Ich als bosnische Muslimin hasse Türken.

11:17 You're not really bright, are you ? The Ottoman invasion does not explain the Turkish music you encountered in some parts of Sarajevo. Turkish language is not even spoken in Bosnia. Bosnia's Ottoman heritage is mostly in Bosnian language and it is localized. Those Turkish guys you see on the streets are either tourists or people who came there a few years ago. Turks are the biggest minority group in Germany as well, that doesnt make Germany suddenly Turkish or Ottoman.

For the end let me tell you one more thing mam, for you to learn more about authentic Bosniak culture you should have went to the smaller towns due to Sarajevo being overcrowded with Arab/Turkish and other tourists, that is NOT BOSNIAK CULTURE, just like you did when you were visiting Serbian parts and thinking thats totally different and authentic culture. Well firstly thats not totally different, its just that you havent even seen the authentic Bosniak culture of smaller towns and villages.
