@imal25Well done, I never been to Ne York
@user-zx8de8op9lright on! beautiful info about a beautiful subway system. thank you very, very much!
@dwdeclare1965How did they did they build the tunnels? Try digging miles of tunnels through granite bedrock. All of these tunnels in New York, and London for that matter, were already in existence, before the city planners, decided to clear them out, and build a rail system in them. The street car system was laid out before we were told as well. It would take modern humans years to excavate that much rock from under a crowded city, but it didn't even seem to inconvenience the people of the time. In fact, it made life, instantly better for the population, and the evidence is in the system itself. I don't believe it for a second. They just didn't have the means and the tools to dig like that, at that time. Not into solid granite. No way.
@jamesn.economou9922Does the part of the system built in 1904 still operate?
@The80sTimeTravelerWouldnβt it be cool if the city of NYC built a one car replica, and just stook it in on a different train each day for fun and youβd never know when the vintage car will be riding lol.
@AdamX-nv3pbNew trains make a loud winding noise and they're braking the MTA had to go back to old trains and put them back into service. Today's mentality is not let's make a train that'll last.
@fernandosalas8589Now it smells like piss
@jaybonilla7157I was enjoying this until your background music overtook your narration.
@moname7017More about the cars than the subway system
@krazyjoker720It's a shame that they put the music over the top of the people talking. Ruined it for me.
@billboard3980Great piece of American history!
@ronniewest838Who the heck added the super-loud music!?!?! Ugh
@dellc7739Fascinating asf

@FreshCopperOfficialToday is the 118th Birthday Of The New York City Subway
@ethandominicciNew York City has always been runned by terrible mayors. The mayor's removed all the El trains without building first the replacement of it. They removed all the street train cars which could have given the city a better transportation diversity. They demolished stations or parts like Queensboro Plaza which is heavy during afternoon rush hours.
If you live in New York City don't vote for Democratic mayors.
Informative, historical and inspiring π thanks. ππΊπΈ
@carlbowles18081957 born with lines
@jayvonnoelsmith84451957, born and raised in Da Bronx, I remember riding with as a child those post-WWII subway cars and lines, our main lines used by our family were the IRT #4 Woodlawn and IND D & CC Concourse lines into the city IE. Manhattan, yes my place was always standing at the front door πͺ looking out pretending to be the motorman... ππ
@Ralphie_BoyGreat vid edit music volume please !
@Forrestgangvery interesting
@tincanboatMusic is too damn loud and very distracting! Otherwise, good information here.
@Old_Man_JayCould be a very interesting video, but the added "music" is just too distracting and, frankly, irritating. I would have liked to watch the entire video, but couldn't.
