Moment Rishi Sunak asks homeless person 'do you work in business?'

Video Overview & Insights

The prime minister has been criticised over an awkward exchange with a homeless person while volunteering at a soup kitchen.

You Sunak sold us out. A millionare should never be in charge of this country, completely out of touch.

Rishi Sunak asked the man whether he worked in business, to which he replied: 'I'm homeless'. Sunak said he used to work in finance and asked the man if he was interested in doing so. He told the prime minister he was just trying to get through Christmas and find temporary accommodation.

The way politicians do small talk with common people is so icky

I think R/S meant well but his private schools and privileged life left him without understanding of the working classes of GB.

Which a fraudulent dishonest man. Sunak makes me sick. He only entered politics to facilitate a VIP lane for his greedy Indian father in law who paid Cameron to parachute him into Haugues Richmond seat.

Sunak has no personality and charisma and is merely robotic and soulless.

Fun fact: the video revenue from this video could very well make this man no longer homeless and possibly into business.

I think many people who replied here don't see it from the other perspective that a completely homeless person is being regarded as someone who might be able to work in a decent job which might really give him a push to apply for jobs he hasn't considered given his situation and the way he might feel about himself. Many people who made it in life have lived on the street for a while. Rishi Sunak is surrounded by people who care mostly about money and his head is full with ideas for his constituency. The point is while these people are relatively rich they are not the Musks and Zuckerbergs and still relatively far away so they don't really think about being the first to end poverty. He should have made the rich pay but first it's Joe Biden to make California pay. Rishi Sunak isn't all that ignorant... I think he cares way more about the people than Keir Starmer does.

Guys, he asked the question because the guy expressed an interest in the economy, so Rishi trys to find the source of the question, making conversation, 'do you work in business' sounding similar to 'have you experience in this field you ask me of'. It's a gracious question, assuming the capability of the individual to be able to think and do something. Not just a write off. See how many comments here assume the worst and slander opinion. Thinking the worst and slandering someone's name brings strife and division.... 🙏 Let's go people

*listen to the clip closely, the homeless man mentions business before Rishi asks the question about business. It's muffled and hard to hear on camera.

@thetreekeeper143

How can an Indian really understand the British mind? 😢 Im an Indian too, but imagine a person from Somalia becomes Indian prime minister only for tge reason he lived his entire life in India😂. The U.K thinks that it's inclusivity😊. Young generation of UK is a joke. I know its only downfall from here due to the past actions. Its obvious as a country UK is done since the time it started uncontrolled migration.
