11:13 I'm pretty sure it didn't change because of the command you put in. You get the version of the block first then put in the amount you want as the end so you were getting 1,2,3,4 blocks but you were getting the same block rather than it's other variant (example would be /give @s frosted_ice 2 1 instead of /give @s forsted_ice 1 2), The light block can be clicked to change the lighting of the block which can be altered up to 15 time (that's why the number on the texture is there meaning you can also choose what version of it you want through the command) and the reason you couldn't see the block in your hand even while holding it was because it works like the barrier block in the sense you need to be in creative mode, and on thing i find cool is that they actually updated the ender dragon and Wither eggs with the other one's since you could do this command before the egg texture update and the dragons would show up as a Black and purple spotted one while i think the Withers was just black (though it might have had dark grey spots that i just don't remember)

the glowing obsidian was just as part of the "animation" of the nether reactor lol when you activate it the cobblestone of the structure you built would turn (temporarly i think) into glowing obsidian

can you still access the camera? I used to use that command all the time but the last few times I've tried it didn't work cause it said the command didn't exist. (I always turn on the education edition stuff and the creator experimental stuff in my creative worlds cause i liked messing around with commands and the periodic table items)

I have a bunch of stripped mushroom blocked in my survival world from the console edition days. They need to just add a way to strip them like trees.

Oh and pocket edition had a special barrier that even creative couldn't break was transparent but anything behind it couldn't be seen basicly the sky is all you could see

You showed that you can see placed barrier blocks if holding one while in creative mode, but this applies to the light block and structure void block as well. Another thing with the light block is that if you place one in creative mode while still holding one, you can interact with the one you placed to change the light level. The light level goes as low as 0 and as high as 15.

Learning about the light block also made me realize that there are a TON of those scattered around my current world. I've been using that Herschel backpack add-on, and noticed that the light upgrade can glitch and leave trails of light which don't disappear. Well as it turns out it's simply leaving those light blocks all over the place, so now there's an absurd amount of those in my world.

the petrified oak slab is actually just a stone slab retextured with the same code as the stone slab which was added back in beta 1.3

U can obtain these blocks with addons because mojang allowed addons to access ANY block in the game. I actually had a world with all of them it was made using a custom addon I made
