The warning sign would not help. People will swim there with extra caution. So will do crocodile.

I would never swim in the ocean at night or in a river where crocodiles and alligators live

This happened during the day around 6:30. During the rainy season itâs dangerous to swim on the beach in Puerto Vallarta , where the river empties into the ocean or near the mangrove forest as crocodiles leave that fresh water and come into salt water looking for a easy meal. Stay in the swimming pool and enjoy the beach out of the reach of a crocodile hiding and waiting to ambush a human or animal. They are everywhere in Puerto Vallarta, just go to the Marina and you will likely see them near the rocks or swimming around. You donât need to worry about sharks in Mexico, but watch out for crocodiles!

@JesusisLvfds6400Nature does not care. This is our world, when not being constantly "nerfed".
@seangrove1999well logic dictates (same as the "greed" sub-plot seen in the first Jurassic Park movie) being a high end Hotel on a Beach Resort, the last thing they are going to do is GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to fully inform Guests of the hazard of being EATEN BY A FRIGGIN' DINOSAUR, since this would obviously be BAD FOR BUSINESS. as many are wisely saying here in the comments, for 99.99% of the population the basic idea of mixing Crocodiles and Tourism is "antithetical" short of someone with a death wish deliberately wanting to visit "Kanaga's Jamaican Swamp Safari" as depicted way back in the 1973 James Bond movie "Live and Let Die".đ oh geezus, now there's a business slogan for the Marriott Hotel in Puerto Vallarta if ever there was one. I mean doesn't anybody remember the famous signage that said "TRESPASSERS WILL BE EATEN..." đ«š
@phillyphil1513In the case of Brittany Clark in Florida, the 13 foot monster was killed along with its partner 12 footer. That was mandatory due to "Predatory Habituation": Crocodiles are opportunistic ambush predators. Once itl learns that humans are easy, slow-moving prey, it is highly likely to repeat the behavior and target people again.
@UltorvindexWhy are they showing vacation pictures of this couple? Are they famous?
@SurgeonGeneralNominee4Bro what is that possessed man in the thumbnail
@MrworlwadMarriott built their hotel in the middle of their habitat. The region is surrounded by natural rivers, estuaries, and mangrove ecosystems. During the rainy season, local waterways expand, which encourages crocodiles to explore, hunt, and seek out new territories.
@Try-decompressionJust a suggestion,âŠdonât swim with crocodilesâŠđ€·đŒââïž
@MackSuttoncrazy and UNFEELING, how one of their guests was killed on their property by a big crocodile on the beach [in a beach hotel] and Marriott claim they did and do everything possible. NO improvement needed, no liability. NOT the hotel with whom to ensure your family's safety nor an enjoyable and safe vacation.
@TheTruthTheBibleCrocs are known to be in thkse waters and there is a sign........
@taaapppYeah, I'm staying out of the ocean and waters where alligator and crocodiles live.
@Blu32-d8qMy friend who lives there told me that attacks have increased in that area where many big hotels are. There is an estuary near by, where down the river much of their habitat was destroyed for more hotels so they are going into the ocean now đ„șđ
@cindyllaxPeople forget animals were here long before dirty humans came along
@firstnamelastname7797Hey....Come on Vacation... Leave as an Appetizer for the local Crocs đ
@redfish9029I would swim and not worry about it
@KevinBaker-p9dThe sign clearly shows a crocodile. His fault.
@lenoreraven9758Everyone knows about alligators in Florida, but crocodiles in Puerto Vallarta? I had no idea they were that far north!
@chrisferro9809That's what crocs do, they drown their prey.
@althunder4269Hotels have signs.
@ramonsanudodiez9129I stayed in the Hotel next door in 2001 and was on the beach at night, and had no idea that there were crocs there. There weren't any signs, wooah, how freaky. I also went on a snorcheling boat tour. There were alot of dinosaur sized iguanas running around, and wild cats and crabs that came from the beach into the pools. Nearby is Elisabeth Taylors and Richard Burtons house that has private tours. It was a beautiful place.
@JennyGreenteeth-heheKind of important to be wildlife and geographically aware. Everything is buyer beware!
@aliceh9186The news lady, did anyone warned you when you checked in the hotel? Are you kidding me? đ
We took our daughter to the zoo last weekend and at the entrance nobody told us, there is lions, snakes, etc đ
ignorance is deadly.
@JadeVuong-vo4ujI recorded a video on July 4, 2024, after spotting a crocodile in the ocean around 1:30 p.m. The sighting made me realize that my family and I had been swimming in the same area the day before.
As a visitor, I had no idea crocodiles were present on this beach. If I had known, I would never have gone into the water with my two children, who were 9 and 6 years old at the time. Looking back, it is frightening to think that we unknowingly put ourselves at risk.
The video also shows my wife warning people who were swimming about the crocodile. Surprisingly, there were no lifeguards or hotel personnel warning guests or asking them to leave the water. My wife, another tourist, ended up doing what should have been the responsibility of those in charge of guest safety.
Hotels and resorts should do a much better job of informing guests that crocodiles are known to inhabit this area. Many tourists, especially first-time visitors, have no idea this is a potential danger. I certainly didnât. I stayed at Villa del Palmar in Puerto Vallarta, just a few miles away, and I donât remember seeing any signs or warnings about crocodiles there either.
After the crocodile sighting, we spent the rest of our vacation using beaches farther away from the river, which is located between the two hotels. Had there been clear warning signs or better information provided, we would have made that decision from the beginning.
People should be careful before blaming the tourist involved in this tragic incident. It is entirely possible that he, like many visitors, simply had no idea crocodiles could be found on that beach.
Guest safety should always come first. If crocodiles are frequently seen in the area, hotels and local authorities should clearly warn guests and, when necessary, temporarily close the beach rather than allowing people to continue swimming without knowing the risk. If the beach cannot be used safely, then the hotel should direct guests to enjoy its pools and other amenities until conditions are safe again.
In Australia and California, authorities often close beaches or issue public warnings when sharks are spotted because public safety comes first. I believe the same level of responsibility should apply when crocodiles are present. Visitors deserve accurate information so they can make informed decisions and protect themselves and their families.
Crocodiles on the beach? You havenât been to Australia mate.
@epicny4nRespect the signs.
Theyâre lying about being informed.
Travel Bro!!
MEXICO Safest place in the world.

I didnât know that crocs can live in salt water.
@XfilesIsTrueSome of yâall donât watch nature programs and it shows.
@Prinz210There is definitely signs, stupid people decide it won't happen to them!!!
@joelange7451currently... the Rumpo-regime and Miller-Ghoul are working on a text on .. how to blame this on non-whites..

@IsjsnsnawjiqaoqkqkqmwncbdCorporate profits, first and foremost. Human life (especially poor laborers) not the priority.
Muck Farriot!
Plenty of crocs in cancun also. People to busy drinking abd relaxing and not being aware of their surroundings. Mexico doesn't have the same safety regulations as america. Thats the risk you take by going down there.
@Flow2motionzAs long as there is a sign in fine print somewhere on the property , they are legally off the hook. Just like that toddler from Nebraska taken away by an alligator at a Disney resort in Orlando. Sign Said dont go in the water. Kid was BY the water!
@AA-qk1nfLeave the crocs alone! I'll never travel to these graped nature yuppie resorts again. I did after college, and I feel bad that I contributed to this destructive, corrupt garbage. Abort
@Antimaga-f5eA little sign should be good enough. What do want? A big sign?
@michaelmunro8147âWe ainât in Kansas anymoreâŠ.â
@Snowmad46Visit wild places with known dangerous wildlife, then complain their so naive that they didn't do their own research.. This is Jalisco Mexico not nanny socialist California, its not their job to warn you past posting a sign. Swimming at night, at the mouth of a river is putting yourself in the food chain. Its called common sense, something Californians seem to be lacking. Sorry they will see and hear this scene in their dreams forever, but they chose to vacation in a foreign country that has very different laws and dangerous wildlife and chose to do no research about it. If you fear being eaten alive, stay out of the ocean especially at the mouth of a river at night. Why close the beach the predator is gone or atleast full.
