Darth Vader's iconic Star Wars armor captured the hearts of people throughout the years. It's made up off the helmet, the bodysit, all the life support systems, the flowing cape, all of it comes together to form it's great forms.

The mask was actually designed based on a Japanese samurai mask and helmet. And originally was only to be in one single space battle scene but when the design was shown to George Lucas he fell in love with the image and made it a full time part of darth vader, adding more and more to the script to allow it to happen. I learned this from a pretty cool contact info book I have that has lots of stuff written straight from George Lucas in it. Pretty cool actually.

I always thought it was very strange that Obi-wan did not kill him on Mustafar. I mean, how cruel is it to just leave him there to burn up. Either get him medical attention or give him a merciful death. Just leaving him there is unjedi-like.

I really don't think that his vocal cords were damaged, the vocal modulator was probably installed to make him sound more menacing and mechanical, because we can see in Rebels and the Obi-Wan Kenkbi show that when the mask is damaged his real voice comes through

Vader was compromised to force lightning when Luke cut off his hand exposing the wiring which was conduits for force lightning

Also Palps designed it so it would make random noises when he was falling asleep, so he was constantly sleep deprived and could only rest properly in a meditation chamber or bacta tank.

My favourite part about his cybernetics is just the fact that all 4 limbs are gone. It's horrible enough that his suit is a prison as much as a life support system, but at least if he had an arm or even a leg left, there would be some degree of genuine feedback when holding something or walking, or even in his meditation chamber where he can safely be without most of his suit, he can't hold something with a heavily scarred, but still real, hand. There's nothing to connect him to the outside world

I'd imagine his bodysuit likely functioned along the same lines as the suits from the Dune novels. In that it minimized the amount of waste by recycling usable components.
