MACHINE GUN KELLY: Nu Metal, Yungblud & Dealing with Hate | GP #231
Video Overview & Insights
Garza sits down in-person with rapper, songwriter & actor Colson Baker. Known to the world as MGK & formerly Machine Gun Kelly. New song “FIX YOUR FACE” w/ Fred Durst out now! https://instagram.com/machinegunkelly
Honestly as a part of the EST family, it’s been a wild trip on this journey, but not once has kells not been loyal to his fans, he’s absolutely amazing and genuine. Every single person in the family is welcoming. Doesn’t matter if you’ve known him since before he was big, after, or just by seeing a video go around. Genuinely grateful to have found this community when I did. I mean heck, have you ever heard of anyone throwing a big block party on a day just for their fans? MGK day is amazing. It’s also cool that I once lived in Covington, Kentucky. The Ohio bridge was literally in my backyard. (My friend went to college there and I visited for a bit too so we would go to Ohio a lot.) Anywaysss yeah, it’s been great having music i relate to and also having people like MGK and Ronnie Radke have that “fuck your opinion on me” behavior.

6:15 “the universe is so beautiful” I got accepted into post secondary to study wildlife and outdoor recreation. To celebrate, I got a swallowtail butterfly tattoo. Two days after I got my tatt, I found a swallowtail butterfly trying to escape through glass at my workplace. I got to hold this butterfly and look into it’s eyes before I released it outside. Watching it fly away is one of my life highlights. Our world is beautiful and I wish more people appreciated it.

I have always loved Mgk’s well you see or see either there’s nothing normal kid what kind the charger I don’t know there’s because Christian uses a different one do you think is a different one oh my God you bought me my phone like fucking how long ago and I have a got a new one so of course I don’t have the new charger. I have I have the cable. I was just wondering shut up on my leg. She goes 100% to 80% with 12 like Dj is Djs is old too older than yours. This has been not like holding a charge at all lately and he’s been using that shit he uses he doesn’t use use that thing to charge it because it work in all that he has evolved into, from his epic style and rap flow it blows my mind . From his Lace up album, song “on my way” to “orpheus” on lost americana, he has never changed who HE as an artist has been he always been 1000% himself. Love this podcast! Xoxox

MGK knows full well the line is about Yungblud and it’s unnecessary if it’s about the Osbournes interview. But if it’s how he deals with his shit it is what it is. As far as loyalty to his friends he should have the same theory in loyalty with his relationships with women. He should have the same loyalty when they aren’t together as he does when they are present. You would need respect for them to have that loyalty though. As far as artist, I’m not bashing MGK I like him, very talented and amazing artist. He has come a long way. The ego does still need a bit of work.

Like this dude. Media is trash.
@JackclammerGood music and bad music. My favorite genres as well. Subjective
@Jackclammer1:18:25 he's lying here. Mike didn't even ask Chester because the song 'lift off' was planned and recorded after Chester passed away. Wonder how many more things this guy lies about.
@naimhussain606MGK is a wannabe douchebag.
@naimhussain606Lol i was a punk rocker when i was young and i remeber getting shit for liking stuff thay wasnt hardcore enough. Now eveyone loves it. I feel bad for people who only listen to one genre, therebis so much good shitnout there you are missing
@Zach-FettersBreaks my heart to see his face when he is told Garza got hate for liking his shit. People just love to hate on this man because he has it all and is a nice guy on top of that. Love MGK!
@77mandihallGarza keeps cooking so hard with these guests
@finn4790Garza seems fake only doing this for clout
@jackson5279I cld see someone referring to him as Cols which is close to Kels.
Btw, I’d love MGK to collab with Corey Feldman!
MGK isn’t really genre hopping. He performs “pop”. Pop rock/punk, pop country, pop rap… it’s all popular so… If he starts doing classical or gospel then he’ll be genre hopping. Those that think MGK is genre hopping has a limited understanding of music.
9:09 hahahahhaha. He cares SO much 😂😂😂 such a twat
@HuntingParty1This conversation was incredible! Being able to be a fly on the wall for this MGK and Garza conversation is awesome. Two incredibly cool guys. Thanks for doing this episode together, guys. Real ones! 🔥🐻🔥
@SicksenseofficialDont you owe nelsons ledges a bunch of money still from that festival ?? @machinegunkelly
@gannuscio13Garza, gifted artist and interviewer.
@alivaldez6047ngl non of the songs on his top 10 are rap sadly
@KidxChaos01I'm showing up no matter what you're playing. We all love you
@heatherwallace383I’ve been laced up with MGK since 100 words and running and this man has been through so much stuff in my life and right beside me through it all without even knowing. From the birth of my kids, the loss of my son’s father, a heroin addiction now to 8 yrs of sobriety. I am so glad that he is getting the opportunity for people to actually see him for him.
@kmcneil0220Incredible podcast! I’ve been a huge fan of MGK for a long time and it’s so good to see him like this.
You gotta have Fred Durst on the podcast next!!
How did bro not have a license
@Minder13ADTRLove that you aren’t PR trained and that you are human ❤ oh and love that you’re petty 😂❤
@susannesargent7065I’m all over the place too dude. 😂
@TheBananasmokerFacts anime music videos that’s so true
@kevinaldebot3201I hear people saying mgk has no substance in his music because he actually loves life.’than I remembered. The song from Tool called parabola which is a song about celebrating lite. Because, during that time Maynard said he was sick and tired of metal musicians making songs about how bad life is
@AguyyouprobelyknowRespect to MGK he seems really down to earth and an honest human being.
My outlook on him has completely changed after watching this.
All of his favorite nu metal bands are all the same what I listened to as a kid and I’ve actually got a lot in common other than him what’s really weird? Pretty cool.
MGK!
@archangelgabrielentertainmentI hate it when people (older usually) claim all millennials are stupid, followers with no reality or enthusiasm or respect. It's totally false. Garza you're a genuine good guy.
@adamfindlay7091So happy to see Kells getting to show people who he really is. He's grown so much as a person and an artist. I can't think of a single song he's done that I would skip. Kells, keep playing the genre of good music, people will eventually figure out what we already know. You're an incredibly versatile artist! Love the new song!
@myskatt333I listened to mgk through friends back in highschool, didn’t love him but didn’t hate him either. Then around 2020 I was goin to school in downtown Cleveland area, working shit jobs on the east side, and i guess that made me respect him more. Listened to a bunch of his stuff, loved hotel Diablo and tickets to my downfall. Every time I hear him talking in a casual setting he just seems like a good, normal, rational chill ass dude. And you can’t not respect that. I actually did some aprentice work in an engine machine shop with a lady who used to be his teacher back in middle school and she put me back onto him a bit. Shoutout bekka at metals crankshaft grinding.
@TheOmw2000❤️🔥❤️🔥🤍🤍💙💙❤️🔥❤️🔥
