super crazy that the homeless problem in LA is exacerbated by government basically giving paychecks to their friends in NGOs, purchasing real estate, and not ever really needing to solve a problem. they just want to keep raking in grants to line their own pockets too. insanity.

The ponzi institutuion is giving black eyes to the Italians. It’s unfortunate, but must be acknowledged in order to move forward. Major disappointment.

I see California as a scorched, earthquake doomed state. It looks like there is nothing beautiful about it. Everything is expensive lol. You basically have to be a millionaire or billionaire to want to live in that state. And I don't even think those people live there anymore.

63 USD for steak. That's 1000 ZAR here. You can buy 10 times that here. That is just insane crazy. Now steak is considered luxury pretty much everywhere in the world. I shudder to think what basic necessities cost. My heart bleeds for you. People are suffering over there. I am from a 3rd world country in Africa BTW. We're all human, but damn. God bless you. I hope for a world that is equal. Where well-being is spread out more fairly than it is right now. We all deserve the same. Please stay strong and keep the faith. A great equaliser is coming. I won't mention it by name as it has received much publicity already.

51:13 What OG says about cop pensions: Yes, police officers have lost or had their pensions reduced for mistreating people, but this penalty is relatively rare. Revoking a pension—known as pension forfeiture—generally requires a serious criminal conviction tied to their law enforcement duties rather than simply being fired for policy violations or brutality. Compared to here in the U.K. and my native Ireland, there is far too much reliance on the private car in LAX, given all the motorways, given also the failure to get high speed rail into the LA area - being totally reliant on bus and tram transport myself, I’m far more in favour of just “taking the bull by the horns” and simply totally banning all private vehicle ownership and use, in order to make public transport more attractive, which even post-Brexit here in the U.K. might soon become the subject of an EU directive imposed on the Irish government in my native Ireland, where even in my home village in Ireland, people only think they need their cars when in fact they don’t, making public bus transport inefficient and unreliable, despite there being a motorway bypass and a rail “park and ride” being only 30% full at any one time, on a main route into Dublin

Sad that the celebrities and the politicians all who never have to live or see what the conditions are like here are the loudest voices. They now voted again to keep the city like this.

@JohnCole-h6sPersonally, I believe that it was never meant for both the ordinary and not so ordinary human being on planet Earth to ever fully see the big picture of how life is managed on the planet by those in-charge. Long, long ago to ensure that the big picture would never be seen by the populace, those in-charge of the planet made the big picture into a puzzle with many thousands of pieces. They then scattered those pieces all over the planet in both some likely and very unlikely places. But even in doing this those in-charge did not feel completely confident that at some point in time someone might find and put all the pieces together. Therefore, to add to the complexity of putting together the puzzle, they fabricated many thousands of what appeared to be genuine pieces to the puzzle but were all, to some degree, false pieces that would almost fit (so close) but never exactly fit with any other piece. Consequently, those in-charge were so certain that the big picture puzzle would never be assembled, they came up with a motto to give to the populace at large: "Seek but never find."
And through the ages seek people have but always almost finding but never fully finding. However, with the arrival of the Internet and social media, more and more pieces (genuine and false) are being found by more and more seekers and being brought out into the open for inspection and analysis. Unfortunately, in many cases, the person that has discovered a piece misassigns the piece as being the whole. The person presents their finding as the whole but since it's actually only a small fraction of the whole it, of course, cannot be a viable answer to the question: "What's happening here, what's going on, what's the big picture?" Thereby, the person erroneously presenting the piece as being something that it isn't, the person and the piece itself, eventually and unfortunately, lose credibility and are often discarded and considered of no importance. Consequently, in some instances a viable, genuine, important, and necessary piece of the puzzle is abandoned.
I’m visiting LA for the first time. Where should I go visit or do?
@fabianmunoz2931I have my issues with Bass, however, street homelessness went down for the first time in years under her. It is fair to wonder if it is true, but I do feel safer in some areas and on the Metro due to security, so if that is part of the bloated police budget I am happy.
@Interdimensionaltravelagent20:22 these are the people that vote for mayor Bass
Because they profit from the madness
Atleast indians pay taxes and are mostly integrated to the work force and the best part they hardly commit any crimes maybe be 1 per cent or less of the total crime. So I think from that perspective Indians or in general Asians are ok it's the problem with Mexico, Venezuela or other neighbouring Countries which contributes to the larger crime percentage not all people coming are bad I know but a decent chunk of people from those countries do commit frauds or crime.
@yash770The guy at the nochance foundation told it like it is. He's a hero for sure. "Here to help, not to judge"!!!

@debratansey6074No from LA but San Jose and San Diego. The homeless/drug problem seems to have gotten very apparent and visible since around 2010. I used to never see any homeless walking down the streets. They’ve started trickling into nice neighborhoods. It’s politically “incorrect” but if I see a homeless person I’m not going to give them stuff for free just because they’re homeless. You teach someone to fish, they can feed themselves for life. If you give them things they take for granted and just do what they want, guess what, they’ll do what they want, often without improving. There should be conditions like “we’ll give you access to a place to sleep, shower and eat on the condition that you stay drug free and are actively looking for employment and or volunteering your own time.” A lot of people grow up in poor families and crappy conditions but it’s still a choice. If you stay in victim mentality, choose drugs, choose to stay on the streets, choose to not contribute to society because you don’t want responsibilities, then guess what? It’s no one’s responsibility to take care of you. People make it complicated and complex but they just don’t want to say what’s politically incorrect. There are many, and I’d say the majority of Californians that look at these people without much empathy. The reason isn’t because we’re selfish but because we see excuses. “Poor me, I have a different and unique story. I grew up poor. My parents were doing drugs or in jail. No one gave me anything.” It’s just victim mentality and a lack of personal initiative or acceptance of responsibility. Your parents sucked and were absent? It’s still your choice to do something different than what they did. Loads of very poor immigrants come to America all the time. They also come from very bad neighborhoods, witness murder, gangs, etc.. and they come to America to turn their life around! I saw a lot of people outside Home Depot with just their clothes waiting for someone to hire them for a job or two either mowing grass, helping fix a fence, whatever. My point is that it’s a CHOICE. I truly believe all these people who just give free stuff away is really enabling the same drug addicted behavior. You want to go out and offer your time to help people because you feel a sense of guilt. But what you’re really doing is enabling drug addicts. Mandatory rehab is the answer and we shouldn’t allow people to just walk the streets while they’re on drugs, unhinged, unstable, and a dangerous to people, children, animals, businesses, etc..
