Uncle Sam ought to give us those F-35s and lift the sanctions. We Turks are the ones who strengthen Uncle Sam's hand against Russia and China and who would be the ones fighting in the mud ourselves in a future conflict. We paid a price just to join NATO; we fought in Korea and proved our strength and courage. Many other members of this alliance are here simply because they are a small part of Western civilization; they have made no financial or military contributions to the alliance and have paid no price. Uncle Sam has to keep pulling gold from his coffers to protect them, but we Turks always pay the price for what we want.

Sleepless nights are beginning for European countries... Europe is caught in a tight spot within the America-Russia-Turkey triangle. Today, they are paying the price for relying on NATO and the US nuclear umbrella for years while neglecting their own defense industries and melting down their armies. Now, they face the Russian threat on one side, a Washington saying 'fend for yourselves' on the other, and Turkey in the south with its military might and refugee leverage. The complacency is over; the squeeze has begun. What move Europe will make to escape this trap, time will tell. However, it seems they will likely pay a heavy price for not admitting Turkey into the European Union.
