Learn How To Sing For Guys - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

Video Overview & Insights

Learn To Sing Like This! Click Here Now: https://KenTamplinVocalAcademy.com/

I sang professionally for 20 years and a lot of this came naturally to me at the time, but I stopped singing regularly, started smoking sadly, and my voice had been seemingly lost. But, after only one session with Ken Tamplin, I feel like I can not only get back to where I was in my late teens and early twenties, but probably be an even better vocalist now one year away from 50. I didn't see this coming! Praise God.

01:07 How To Sing

As a kid in the mid-sixties, I played the guitar and sang in teen bands. Once my voice (cracked), I found I could no longer reach the high notes, so I (sort of) gave up. Well, now I'm 72 and recently found I can roll my voice, not from the diaphragm, though, only from the throat. I'm digging this newfound "talent", but want to learn how to project better. Oh, and I'm a Glenn Hughes fan. High notes may not happen for me. By the way...I would have loved to have heard Hughes and Gillian sing together, but alas, that may never happen. By the way, I saw Deep Purple at California Jam (1974), so I'm familiar with the footage you used here.

13:36 the tongue exercise - tongue drill

I have always heard that vibrato shouldn’t be forced, open your throat, it comes naturally. But I’ve never seen the reward! I have been singing more recently, and noticed that when I’m at my limit, my vibrato is superb! But I’m at my limit, and I my vocal cords give out around then too.

I couldn’t re-create it, unless it got to the same point. I was in choir in Middle School, which was about 30 years ago at this point. We never learned about vibrato. I have been jealous of my dad and others who have it naturally (also, it can be totally forced, but it sounds like it). I have always love singing! Just this video has improved my vibrato incredibly. I will keep practicing to improve my tone and the other aspects. I feel much stronger in my neck and throat, this far.

I love singing, and I can’t wait to keep practicing! For whatever reason, I always thought vibrato just appeared when you sang ‘correctly’, and while I can harmonize, I was totally wrong. I see now there is a lot of muscle control, and I want to practice, and make myself stronger. Thank you for this video!!!

It's crazy. I can't sing at all and I'm not being down on myself, I'm really bad and I just did those exercises, it was my first time and it was a 100% improvement. Don't get me wrong, I'm still terrible but the improvement I saw was wild. Thank you.

I'm wanting to cover some tom petty songs and I only started singing this year at 24 , I'd been too terrified of singing until now and as scary as they are I've been taking singing lessons. I figure you have to be quite consistent but regardless I'll be watching this one on the regular , thanks ken.

When I was younger people would tell me how well I could sing but I never had the courage to sing in front of a large group of people. Unfortunately, alcohol and drug use have severely diminished my singing voice.

Ken, when we do the arpeggios - Is it important to hum continuously and pitch my voice up and down? Or can I stop between the notes? It seems much easier to reach the notes when I stop in between and hum each note separately

@marcoprins4880

My lip roles won't stay going. It has been this way my whole life. It will roll for about 2 seconds and then it's just flat air. I don't think I have a bad voice, but my lips just want to go flat no matter how much air I push or how relaxed my face is. I don't know if this is detrimental to progress my ability to sing properly.

Hi.
I'm just popping in to see if I can make less of a fool of myself singing with my friends.
My problem is breathing. I'm asthmatic, so I run out of puff fast and it's very frustrating. I'm hoping I can find something I'm missing on here somewhere.
I really like your approachable manners sir.
