Kalshi Tutorial For Beginners 2026

Video Overview & Insights

A complete Kalshi tutorial for beginners. In this video I walk through everything you need to know to start trading on Kalshi — the largest legal prediction market in the US. I cover what Kalshi actually is, how the platform is regulated, how to sign up, how to fund your account, how a Kalshi contract actually works (including how to read the order book and what the price represents), how to place your first trade, the fee structure that most tutorials skip, and which markets are best to start with.

Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated prediction market where you can trade yes-or-no contracts on real-world events like Fed rate decisions, elections, sports outcomes, weather, and more. Contracts settle at either $1 or $0 depending on whether the event happens. It's available in most US states (with a few exceptions covered in the video).

never knew the fee structure worked that way, the fact that contracts closer to 50/50 cost more because they're the most uncertain is actually a really clean way to think about it the limit order tip for fees alone is worth saving this video, four times cheaper is not a small difference if you're trading at any real size
been using PillarLabAI before deciding which markets to actually enter, paste the URL and it gives you an edge estimate, news, where the sharp money is sitting. helps with that start with what you know advice because at least you're not going in completely blind

This is helpful but you speak in a lot of betting terms im missing. And using a computer not the app. 1 month later this aged well i won on schffler too. I think of kalshi as day trading sometimes. Just need tips

Basically what you do is bet on the golfer leading the tournament going into the final round, and when he inevitably craps his pants you lose your money.

With this app when it comes to getting ur money on the prices like when u put a dollar amount in I see like on 1 if I put like 50 dollars in it goes up to like over 100$ now is that the money I'm making and if it is when it settles how do I deposit that to my bank account

Great video!
Are contracts just the amount of dollars? And are the price fluctuations equal to the odds?

I"ve never traded of any sort and wanted to say your video is much appreciated! Although it's still a bit over my head in many regards, your video had a lot of great explanations about the various aspects of the platform. Just wanted to say thanks for making this video. I'll probably rewatch it a few times hoping to become more comfortable with the possibility of using the platform. Thanks again!
