Why is my old displays, both on AIO PC and TV (to be fair they were high end for their time I think but right now they are VERY old) have better LEDS than like, basically anything besides OLEDS today, good sound quality, good color, good darkness, excellent viewing angles, near perfect image and absolute atmosphere, right now you can FEEL the imperfections on newer ones, maybe because they are budget but like, shouldnt they surpass 10 year old premiums by now?

you can try out 1440p or 4k on your 1080p monitor by setting DSR to 1.78 or 4.0 in the Nvidia control panel and just see what kind of FPS you're getting

My first system: Amdek 310 12" monitor in amber with a IBM PC with 5 1/4 floppy drives. The year was 1981. This was what spark my interest in computers. Working in hardware, the monitor I hated was the Sony 19" for cad users. It took two of us to lift it. Long retired, I'm looking for a replacement monitor. Your steps in evaluating what to buy hit on many points. Too many option and features was getting confusing for me. Thank you for all the work put into this. Much appreciated.

You kids are resolution/hz spoiled. We played 720p up until around 2010. Then 1080p/60hz came out and I thought that was peak. 4K is ludicrous and 1080p in 32 inch is definitely acceptable. We used to rock 65 inch 1080 TV’s and that was boss not that long ago.

@AuroraSmith1998If you have anything weaker than a 3060 ti, absolutely do not get a 1440p monitor. There is nothing wrong with a 1080p monitor, and you would rather have those extra frames.
Also, this video is completely wrong. 24" inch screens are tiny. Either get a 27" 1080p monitor or get at least a 32" 1440p monitor up to 55". Buying 4k for a 27-32" screen is legitimately one of the worst advices I've ever heard.

the most important thing is: anything than 1080p is overrated we literally used to live with 720p as the ultra HD resolution for so long the only way 4k is actually useful is if you're playing on the huge TV screen

@jashansworkCan't go wrong with a 2026 OLED, they have no actual real world down sides and perform far better than the other screen types. Just make sure you do your research.

I'll be so fr, anything above 240hz, with 2k res, especially Glossy QDOLED at a minimum of 24" 16:9, works perfectly.
@catrardellybird2526Brother, after playing on my 55inch 4K TV from only 1m away I would use a 800x600 CRT monitor. Playing during the night makes me get headaches from the brightness. Also im playing CS quite well at 1280x1024 stretched across the massive TV despite the crosshair being a blurry dot.
@chomaaadamn i ordered my monitor already everything seems good but the brightness nits on it is 300 i'll have to see how bad it is when i get it

@b0rsukkYou forgot to mention the viewing distance from your monitor is also a factor, I'm gaming and watching movies on a 32 inch 1440p monitor and I'm around 1 and a half arm length away from my monitor and there is no noticeable difference vs when you are 2 feet away from your 4k monitor.
@vhlaaat64153:16 be careful with IPS as graphic designer not all are color accurate. if IPS monitor doesnt advertise color accurate it means its 75% below its accuracy. Also worth noting even if u bought IPS with above 99% accuracy some from factory will still be off color. U have to manually or hire some1 to recalibrate the color. Is color accuracy matters in gaming? no but if ur in creative/printing then monitor should be ur number 1 priority
