honestly i will say it from my experience. As a Vi player, lethality Vi feels the strongest right now.

Her clear is pretty good, she's great on objectives, no mana problems and smashes the hell out of people, you just need to master her

The thing about Vi is that she is a playmaking champ, not a 1 v 9 champ. You have to have. Good game sense with her because she will fall off after mid game. So giving some kills to your teammates and building tnky is the correct call. Building full damage will just make you squishy late game. I usually look for the flow of game to see whether I should build offensive first item or defensive because Denting Blows does and underrated amount of damage especially early without items. You can also cheese you passive cooldown to 4 secs post lvl 9 if you cancel your auto on the third hit, because denting blows takes 4 secs every third auto, even when you activated a spell. I’m in the same boat with Vi, she’s number one on my jungle champion lock-ins because of how simple yet versatile she is. Enemy building AP? MR + anti-burst. Tons of assassins? Attack tank. Pesky ADCs? Build more damage than them. Feeling spicy? Buy Collector and build whatever you feel most comfortable with.

Vi suffers most from her relatively low clear speed in the early game and if she gets locked down, she will stay locked down unless you either gamble your life, or the life of your team.

Vi winrate problem:
Surprisingly she lacks damage. Her kill potential is very lol when you consider it's a Dive champion which can easily get in way too deep and has no good ways to get out;
She has no actual tank numbers sinergy on her kit. Okay, her passive gives her % max life shield, but that's it;
As you stated, bad clear, if she falls behind she falls hard;
Her mobility only works when going in or neutral movement, in combat, once you're in, getting out with Q can be hard if the enemy knows the bare minimum of how Vi works. Fact she slows herself and can be body blocked is, if you ult too deep (very easy to be even baited onto or team just dont follow up in solo qeue), you are done. You don't have the damage to kill, you don't have the tankiness and mobility to run.
And pro Jail. I've watched Riot Nerf Vi damage capability many times over years, honestly easily 90% of Vi mains hate to build Vi Tank (she used to be an off assassin), and specially now that Vi is more competitively relevant than ever only due to her R, they would never pump her damage back up, not even a little;
Lastly: competitive really brainwashed pll into using conqueror on her, the rune is quite awfull on her. You can easily go most of you standart games without ever fully stacking it more than 3 times. Nevermind actually benefit from it stacked xD
