How to Survive a Tiger Attack

Video Overview & Insights

Carol Baskin was wrong. Tigers are not big, cuddly cats. And as you find yourself with one on top of you, you'd better hope you don't become a rodent in this deadly game of cat and mouse. The tiger is the largest of the cat family, Felidae, and rivals the lion, Panthera leo, in strength. If you think you can take on a tiger, consider the fact that they are 20 times stronger than the average human. In the words of Joe Exotic, tigers are "A real-life tornado, and there ain’t nothin’ you can do besides protect yourself. "

Most big cats kill with a bite to the neck, nice big veins there that once severed will kill you very quickly.

Les Stroud wore a mask, as advised by the locals. And a tiger still hunted him.
Be pro active and be what human beings are, social. DON'T GO OUT ALONE!
That's why we're all here in the first place. we work, live and die together.

Also, cary a knife always! Keep a kit on you, it will save yours or someone else's life. Keep one in your car, and a portable one on your person. You won't regret it! I promise you. 👍

Incorrect. Roy had a stroke and fell. The tiger did as cats do to loved ones in danger: drag them away to safety by the scruff. He didn't understand that humans don't have that on our necks. He was trying to help. If he truly attacked, Roy would be dead. On the way to hospital, Roy begged them not to hurt Mantacore, saying he was a good cat.

Es absurdo decir que trepando un árbol te vas a salvar de un Tigre sabiendo que los Tigres con mucha facilidad trepa un Árbol, ahí no hay coherencia.

Climbing a tree to survive a tiger is completely false, as tigers are capable climbers and may follow you up the tree. While they might not be as agile as leopards, they can climb well enough to catch a human, so if you're trapped, you should climb to the very top where the branches are thinnest to potentially support your weight while the tiger cannot. Instead, try to create a barrier, back away slowly, or fight back if an attack is unavoidable.

If you encounter a Tiger, just look it in the eyes, they hunt by surprise, that's why Indians when they go to the forest wear masks on the back of their head

@francousmiani1234

You've missed the most important point of all, Tigers are scared of Loud noises, so shouting as loud as you can or clanking your utensils or drums or whatever you can use will give you enough time to confuse the Tiger, This has always and is the only way people have been chasing Tigers away in India for centuries, Tigers are actively hunting villagers in rural India, they've learned that humans are easy prey, they wait in the bushes for days and learn the patterns and then when someone is alone in the evening or go to the toilet at night outside their home(which is a common practice to build toilets adjacent to or few steps away from a home in rural India)
Tiger will simply grab the person into the bushes and disappear, many villagers have actually fought The Tiger with sticks or stones and came back alive badly injured but alive. If you have enough distance between you and the Tiger only then make an attempt to climb a tree and you have to Climb super high and super fast because Tigers can climb tress with ease but don't like to hang in there for long also if you are a good swimmer with great stamina then you can outswim a Tiger but this should be the last option to escape.

I've seen a man giving sleffer, sandal treatment to tigers and lions when he raises them as cubs, it seems to work pretty well though I suppose that doesn't work on wild cats.
