Endorphins do NOT make you energised. They bind to the mu opioid receptor, like typical opioid medication. So the effect is numbing and relaxing, the opposite of stimulation. When I worked in hard labour for up to 12 hours a day, sometimes I'd come home and sit in a chair and the endorphins would flow, and I'd feel my whole body turn almost numb, and feel so deeply relaxed and content, not wanting to move a muscle. The opposite of waking up and stimulating. Years later when I had to take opioid medication, I realised it was the same feeling.

Short-term

Long-term
You might have an increased risk of chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. Sleep deprivation can also increase inflammation in your body, which can lead to cardiovascular disease.
Immune system
Your immune system produces proteins called cytokines that help you fight infections and inflammation. Sleep deprivation can reduce the production of these cytokines, making it harder for your body to fight off illness.
Cognitive function
Your brain consolidates memories, stores new information, and improves your attention span while you sleep. When you're sleep deprived, your decision-making skills and coordination might be affected.
Safety
If you're operating machinery or driving, being sleep deprived can put you and others at risk. The CDC says that being awake for 24 hours is similar to having a blood alcohol concentration of 0.10%.
Growth
If you're a child, not getting enough sleep can affect your growth.
Many short-term effects of sleep deprivation can be reversed by catching up on sleep. The optimal amount of sleep for most adults is 7–8 hours per night

i actually read criminal/dark/morbid history facts tring to induce a adrenaline rush not to fall asleep on my desk. Listening to "ghost and paranormal" stories while trying your best to believe them are also a goood way to go. i can take coffee and ritalin and sleep right after. Hello friends. I recommend buying a 2 liter jug (or bigger if you're a bigger person. This fits me cause im 5'5 woman.) instead of a small bottle so that you dont feel lazy to keep going to the tap and get a glass, cause i did too. I recommend the ones with the hourly schedule. Get a cup, get a jug next to your workplace. Really helped me since i get chronic UTI, then I get an acne breakout just by two pieces of chocolate and because I always suffer a hormonal imbalance from PCOS. Now im healthy and my skin is smooth. Wont solve hormonal imbalance but it will make you feel more alert and smoothen your skin. You will look and feel more alive. I dont even apply any other product on my face but a plain ol' moisturizer. Good luck! 🤞
