Is this only for new songs? Can we pitch a pre released tune for a playlist?

In this episode, I break down exactly how to pitch your music to Spotify editorial playlists in 2025 - and share the exact template I've personally used to land over 40+ official placements, including New Music Friday in multiple countries, regular #1 spots, and even several playlist cover photos.
can you still pitch after you've distributed a song to streaming?
I walk you through the full process - from when to schedule your release, how to fill out the pitch in Spotify for Artists, what not to do, and how to write a 500-character pitch that has had a 95% success rate of getting picked for me.
You'll also get to copy and paste my pitch template directly from the comments - it's the same one that helped me get 16 of my last 17 songs placed, and you can tweak it to fit your own release.
Hi new artist here, I go by KitzHut on Spotify, unfortunately as a niave person to the industry I released 2albums and several singles before learning about pitching to Spotify several weeks ahead. I have 2 singles that I'm getting ready to pitch to see if that will drive some traffic to my music. But do you have any recommendations as to how to get on Spotify Playlist after songs are already released. Should I cancel the release and re-release the songs and pitch them 1st. Any advice would go a far way, thanks in advanceโค
If you're an independent artist, producer, or just want to stop pitching into the void, this'll help.

How about listing playlists that you think would be appropriate for the song to be placed in? Does this help? I could see it bothering some curators.

How would you pitch the song if there aren't a whole lot of people waiting for the song? If it did not generate lots of social media hype. Would say it does regardless?

Some great ideas thank you, would really like to hear your music, how do I find you on Spotify? (sorry I'm new at this) Cheers.
@malcolmlaing8892This is great! Thank you!
@IsaacthompsonThis is such a good video man. Your channel is underrated. I took away the key points and even though I am a smaller artist there are definitely a lot of things that i can write about past successes and future plans. Really good advice. And gratulations on being on new music Friday, that reaction video was wholesome :)
@marcschmiedermusicNo, I havenโt dreamed of this because: Every stream on Spotify generates $1 BUT 70 cents goes to The Major Labels, even if youโre not signed to a Major Label. And then, 29.6 cents goes to Spotify. That leaves the independent artist who created and uploaded the music to Spotify LESS THAN 1 PENNY per stream from the $1 per stream SMFH.
$1.00 - $0.70 - $0.296 = $0.004 per stream, for the artist. Thatโs where that number .004 per stream comes from.
Why support this system if uploading is more than a hobby for independent artists? ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Hi! I am very new in this and released 3 songs so far but my first song however have almost reached 950 streams on spotify and overall all platforms including around 5000 views- reels streams! But am doubtful for other two songs which had hardly got like 1k-3k reel views and just 150 streams on spotify because i actually put down songs for two months. But the new song i have made is a banger when i asked few people before release as review. So should i still pitch? Am not so sure of it!

@jayvocalsdope
@KingFelixI have a question! I have like the basic DistroKid subscription. So what should I do in my case? Because I can't choose the date to release my song ๐
@Parcela56Thanks for the great breakdown. Iโll start using this straight away
@jamesingram7151Lets get into it ๐
@serbsky721Although I have few questions to ask. Can you make a tutorial video on how to pitch music to other platforms?
@AihbiGod bless you and this channel for this ๐ซถ๐ผ
@AihbiThanks for making this - I see a lot of people get placements consistently after their first. All about getting on the first one!
@cblanchhiphopSo, your sample pitch is "we're already very successful and the track is already successful so add it to to make it more successful".
@secretarchivesofthevaticanthank you for this video and insights

Built with chopped vocals & mellow piano, crafted in our countryside bedroom studio, capturing the warmth of an English summer. Already gaining traction with over 50,000 views on TikTok & a strong influencer/social campaign to follow. Recent releases have surpassed 300k streams & 300+ playlist adds. Visuals ensure a cohesive identity across socials & Spotify with the single artwork. Performing live at Solfest 2025. More songs on the way, culminating in an album set for release in September 2025.
Great vid
@RiceyRunsI appreciate the tips! but out of curiosity what if you're new? no followers, no streams and no previous success? the pitch would have to be different? ๐ค๐ค
