If there is a space under the door, would you suggest shaving the upper part of the strike plate?

@barryobee1544All I had to do was tighten the hinges on my faulty door 🚪 and that did the trick!
@AzucarRayYaaaaaa fixed. Some of the other ways to fix it were too cumbersome. This was easy to do and the door latches now. thank you!
@jenfrytalksyouthsportsMan, you solved my problem. It was the upper.hinge. Done! Thanks!
@carlosmonterrojo9566The latch was too low! I just pull UP little bit when closing the door and now it works. Thanks!
@mauriceknowles1338Worked like a charm!! Thanks
@sambyars4131Thank God for my Dremel. Everybody should have one of these things. Great tool. Ya know what else is great?? Tool.

Fix with no tools.....proceeds to use a grinder to alter the strike plate 🤣🤣🤣
@TheZgraenUh my trim is like 1 & 1/2, so the bendy Wendy wouldn't work😭
@dawson5865The door that won’t latch is my 2 year old sons room we can’t let him have a big boy bed until we fix it imagine the night we would have 😅
@trinitylace1101Thank u kindly
@kmao508Use the carbide bit / drill option (don't own a dremel). Worked like a charm! Thanks so much for this fix.
@scszarazI owe you one bro. Thanks!
@christophershahzaad4713OMG...saved me a ton of annoying work with just a little bit of filing
@johncall9090Tighten top hinge screws works about 90% of the time for this.
If the top hinge screws are stripped, replace them with longer screws.
thanks bro for the instruction, was about to use my oscilliating tool
@BAYU-jj2diThe right tool for the right job! Easy Peasy! Thanks for the pointer! Very useful!

@rodelisaquezada8008took 3 minutes to get to the point, thanks.
@kylechambers6115Thanks!
@michaelcozzi1635You mention using the specified Dremel bit in a drill. I saw elsewhere that because a drill doesn't have the RPMs that it could overheat and cause some dangerous conditions if I went that route. I'd also like to avoid buying an item for one-time use. (I'm one of those guys.) Is anyone able to offer advice here?
@wickedwritahThis (filing and reattaching the strike plate) worked for me! This had been a problem for at least 3 years and I thought I'd need a new door, so I put it off. I appreciate the clear instructions!
@JimAndAJayneBruh you talked for almost 3 mins..And didn’t show us anything! Work AND TALK 😒Fixed my issue, no thanks.
@BrittanieWardThanks so much for this video. No carbide dremel so I used a titanium drill bit which made quick work of the latch in under a minute. First test close and it closed and latched perfectly. Rated AAAA+++
@LaVidaLocaHomieMy door latch doesn’t go back out like normally, I have to manually twist the doorknob till it’s fully out, I hear the click sound, but the door still opens cuz it’s not out enough
@ProbablyMurpthanks so much, filing down the metal really worked, wasn't much to take off. My son is at college and our puppy kept pushing the door open and eatting his shoes underneath is bed. Now its shut all the time. Virtual beer for you from Philadelphia PA USA.
@ravinpatthanks it worked!
@steveoff5582Mine is the opposite. Let go of the garage door and the door doesn't latch...doesn't close. Bolt stuck open.
@RotterStudiosI don't understand how the knob can work for several months and then all of a sudden doesn't latch. Is it due to a change in the weather?
@robertarnsworth2464Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
@vincentlakeTHANK YOU THANK YOU! Similar to someone else in the comments, we've been living with a door that wouldn't close for years and this fixed it right up!!!
@mahnliGo to 2:12. That’s where he actually addresses the fix.
