Here, we explore some of the key events that led to the relationship between the two countries falling apart and explain how President Donald Trump fits in.

Why don't you mention the Afghan Shia group with Iran because the Afghan Shia are also supported by Iran. Considering that the Afghan Shia have always been oppressed. I don't know the truth, Iran itself has taken advantage of this oppressed group for its political desires.

00:57 How oil in Iran changed the role of the country on the global stage

I donโ€™t buy anything that comes out of the BBC. In my view, it has been one of the biggest supporters of Khomeiniโ€™s movement. BBC Persian was a major platform through which Khomeiniโ€™s statements, declarations, and speeches reached a wide audience, while false negative narratives about the Shah were amplified. I believe the UK and the BBC played a significant role in legitimizing a regime that later became one of the most oppressive and destabilizing forces in the region.

This is what irritates me about Western Media...
I was almost praising her for her unbiased reporting... then skip chapter 4 and jump to 7!
The presenter did a good job from the beginning of the programme, but then skipped over the REAL reason for the hostage crisis which was the November 1979, demand of the students for the return of the Shah to stand trial for his crimes.
He was suffering from terminal cancer and had been granted asylum by Jimmy Carter.
It's much the same thing that happened in The Philippines with Ferdinand Marcos who was also granted asylum by Reagan despite being wanted by the new Government for his own crimes.
Why start a story to illustrate historical tensions, and gloss over complicity of the UK and US (who by the way had jointly colluded to overthrow a democratic Government because of Oil).
Or should we talk about Mobutu being sponsored by the CIA to overthrow the government of Patrice Lumumba (his crime was contracting Soviet Military advisers). How did that end?

Some of these nasty American-led Coups were led or advised by John Bolton!

Iran had only intended to make nuclear facilities for peaceful purpose. Are people jokers? Arenโ€™t you ashamed of telling such lies? BBC is either being dumb or pretending to be one. If neither, then itโ€™s living in delusion. Who would want such a fanatic nation to possess nuclear capability. Such Islamic terrorists country should not even be allowed to to exist in the world. I would say the US should have not only killed the supreme leader, but also eliminated the entire proxies, Islamic jihadists and other barbaric terrorist ground in Pakistan, Afghanistan as well.

SHAME ON BBC for lying about the oil first being extracted by U.S.! It was the greedy UK ( British Petroleum/BP) who not only paid a pittance for the oil but paid slave wages to the poor Iranians in the early 1900s to the 1950s.

The U.S and Iran has never enjoyed a good relation. The BBC title of this report is ridiculous, Iran has always been the U.S enemy, the Iran regime has it's days counted.

In today's global human societies, the law of the jungle prevails.
A mindset of "might makes right"โ€”akin to animalistic instinctsโ€”permeates throughout.
While peace is paid lip service, nations are tirelessly striving to strengthen their military forces and advance warfare technologies through various means. Meanwhile, powerful countries bully and dominate weaker, smaller nations.

Even the United Nations, an organization meant to foster global peace, often appears to operate in accordance with the interests of powerful nations.
Therefore, every citizen has a duty to protect and preserve their countryโ€™s territorial integrity and sovereign authority.
Patriotism is not about seeking power for oneโ€™s own ethnic group, nor about acquiring land or advancing the interests of oneโ€™s own community. Rather, it is a sense of responsibility to carry the welfare of oneโ€™s nation and its people.

Although Myanmar has historically been home to diverse ethnic groups living together, today more powerful ethnic groups are attempting to establish separate state-like entities within the country.
To effectively suppress such movements, the Myanmar military must remain strong. It is essential that every citizen fulfills their duty to serve in the military.

The duty of the military is to fight.
Its mission is to safeguard the nationโ€™s borders and uphold sovereignty.
To achieve these objectives, war may be necessary.
Military leaders who are unwilling to fight should be removed.
Moreover, the excessive wealth and privilege enjoyed by some military leaders and their circles could hinder the proper execution of the militaryโ€™s duties.
The military must operate in strict accordance with military discipline and laws.
What is needed now are genuine patriotic leaders within the military who truly love the nation and its people.

The first thing to know about the BBC is that it reports only what it wants its audience to believe which is usually less than half of the truth. The Shah of Iran was a ruthless tyrant who was warmly embraced by crazy American politicians and the English landed elite.
