Anderson and cherki in the same midfield will get run through unless Anderson is willing to sacrifice himself

Pep used to play in a system like that in the Cancelo’s days. We were so good until his issue with Pep 😢

Nunes literally played as the right CB in a back 3 for City this entire season but you put Khusanov there? Very strange. Nunes had been exceptional all season long in a back 3.

@nlgu3rilla915

Trafford is going nowhere then is he? Seems more suited to this than Donnarumma?

Crazy how maresca is somewhere in his home right now brainstorming tactics to possibly use next season

Why would we try to play like a team that did worser than us

It’s the WC and far too early to know how marescas tactics are going to work. Focus on countries for now because I’m loving it. Not bothered about club football come back in the end of July to post this content. 😂

Ruben dias as a sub?

where is Phil Foden in all this?

The thing about Maresca is that he sticks with his methods unlike Pep who experiments too much in big games.

eliot anderson is a lost of time for City, only less inteligent people can spend 100 milion, he is next Kalvin Philps. Alexander Pavlovich is the only player City need in the midfield, he can replace easily Rodri - i hope city is smart enough to buy him. 💙

That keeper build up is terrifying with the knowledge that its Donnarumma on the ball.

Yeah you lost me with khusanov over nunes at right back

ait nouri should be unleashed.
He is equally lethal.

but Donnaroma can fit his system ? Maresca might decide him in bench lots of criticism might come to him ( It`s my ideal perspective ) .Central CB will be Ruben Dias due to his physicality strength , His decision making ability , Leader ship quality , his maturity ........ I am sure If his injury prone gets down he will take his position back , I will not trust Guehi in that place he have very good ball progression pass but his Height , Physicality may cause big problem when he gets big Strikers , The other thing is Cherki don`t weak foot he can play using both feet which makes perfect for Maresca , he will create lots of chance and I am sure he will have best season under him . Halland playing style might change some part of Maresca Attacking style . Maresca is UNDERATED COACH , he have chance dominating and winning the league with this perfect player for his system .

Literally handed the best squad itl by far

@federalgaming267

Idk if im the only one who noticed this but Maresca’s chelsea always tried little chipped through balls over the top to try and create chances against teams that would sit deep. If thats something he takes to city haalands gonna bag heaps, cherki will probably assist heaps too

@samurei2
@

Guehi won't work as the central centre back l, last season there was many times guehi struggled with passing.

@akhilsanil8958

I think Nunes will start on that left side

He is a good FB while been a decent LCM

Rigid positional play is dying so imp Maresca has to develop or he will fail

These are theories. In real matches it is always how the motion counts. MC last season's major disaster was they are too focus on posession but to slow in progressing. Hence they become less offesive. MC needs more one touch football and gives more chances to the attackers, Haland in particular. He became so functionless at second half of the season as by the time the attack begins, the opponent aleady set up their defence.

Anderson is far too expensive I really hope we don't keep pushing for him. Paying 100+ mill for English players hasn't worked out for us at all. I see Foden taking on the deeper role though. The chemistry he has with Cherki is mint and he's work rate makes him suited for what Maresca needs from the position.

And I think Savinho is also more suited to be a touchline winger than Semenyo. Savinho just needs better decision making and that improves with experience. But he is one of the most efficient wingers on the team in terms of taking on his man. Semenyo isn't that, he's heavy on the ball and I don't trust his touch. But we'll see what happens. I think we have the quality to make things happen without going to the market just yet. Our contract situation means we're not losing anyone serious right now, so there's some stability. I'd be scared if we made lots of changes to the backroom staff and then even more on the pitch. I'd just chalk off the season and get ready for 27/28

@TheseleMndzebele

Is he going to unnecessarily bench Doku like he did Estevao in Chelsea?

3133 that's literally Bielsa's Marseille and Leeds team system.

@bischteinjohn
@

I think playing with wingbacks with 3 at the back and abandoning wingers all together is the best move going forward, we just can’t seem to find the perfect RW for our squad after 3 tries and Doku has shown he’s monstrous when he inverts into that Attacking midfield position. Just sign a rb like Palestra or Kayode and maybe a lb like Calafiori (who secretly admires city and is rumored to want a move away) if air-Nouri doesn’t make the cut under maresca, and play Khusanov and Gvardiol alongside Reis or Guehi as the back 3

I like Maresca and I wish him all the best

We don’t care about this! Less PL content … more World Cup stuff please Jim!!

Let’s have a PL break ! I wanna hear Bosnia’s players to watch, not how City will set up in 3 months time !

In all honesty, Rodri hasn’t been the same post ACL injury so I’d worry about him having to cover up the pitch given he’s a bit slow in this modern day high intensity football

I think if given a chance at redemption and taking it, Rico Lewis could make a case for himself as a rotational option at right back alongside Nunes, depending on what the game calls for. I still believe in Rico's talent and have seen him perform well when moving higher up the pitch into midfield on the attack but he needs to seriously get better on defense and to get stronger. Just because you're 5'7" doesn't mean you have to be built like a twig or knocked over by the wind. If Rico can be our Carvajal I'd take that.

@madeyekujo

Maresca is known to press with alternating players and fast circulation of the ball,let's see how can he handle the possession game of pep.

Thank you so I’m not the only one who believes we should play the 3 back with oriely placed back into the midfield

@Qwel210

@kylephaneufmusic

We should play 3 at the back if we want to keep donnaruma 3 at the back is good enough to get the ball forward without keeper helping them and i think we should make less back passes to donnaruma that already cost us a goal against arsenal gvardiol guehi khusa will be amazing mifdield would be orilei Lm tonali or anderson and rodri cherki at the 10 and doku rm or rw and haaland up top with foden false 9 he already now how to play that role and he should start he is amazing player we need to get his confidence up
