According to the Historians and anthropologists lived in colonial British period in india in their works Malabar manual by William Logan (1887) and castes and tribes in south india by edgar therlsun (1909) which gives details of more then 300 castes in south india clearly mentioned thiya caste in north malabar kerala have some european ancestry and it is the only hindhu caste mentioned in Eurasian category having european ancestry by edgar therlsun in his book caste and tribes of south india and Logan States that " There are, in North Malabar, many individuals, whose fathers were European. Writing, in 1887, concerning the Tiyan comniunity, Mr. Logan states* that โthe women are not as a rule excommunicated if they live with Europeans, and the consequence is that there has been among them a large admixture of European blood, and the caste itself has been materially raised in the social scale. In appearance some of the women are almost as fair as Europeans.โ On this point, the Report of the Malabar Marriage Commission, 1894, states that โin the early days of British rule, the Tiyan women incurred no social disgrace by consorting with Europeans, and, up to the last generation, if the Sudra girl could boast of her Brahmin lover, the Tiyan girl could show more substantial benefits from her alliance with a white man of the ruling race. Happily the progress of education, and the growth of a wholesome public opinion, have made shameful the position of a Europeanโs concubine ; and both races have thus been saved from a mode of life equally demoralizing to each.โ

The well-known Mannanar belonged to the Varakat illam. Those who know Malabar will recall to mind the benevolent but strange institution which he initiated. He provided a comfortable home for Nambutiri women who were thrown out of caste, and thus in the ordinary course of events doomed to every misery and degradation to be found in life. On being outcasted, the funeral ceremonies of Nambutiri women were performed by her own people, and she became dead to them. She went to the Mannanar, and her birth ceremonies were performed, so that she might begin life anew in a state of purity. If, on arrival, she entered by the left door, she was his wife, if by the front door, his sister. It is said that, when their chief, Mannanar of the Aramana, is destitute of heirs, the Tiyans of Kolattanad go in procession to the Kurumattur Nambutiri (the chief of the Peringallur Brahmans) and demand a Brahman virgin to be adopted as sister of Mannanar, who follows the marumakkatayam rule of succession. This demand, it is said, used to be granted by the Nambutiris assembling at a meeting, and selecting a maiden to be given to the Tiyans.
Kiriyam is said to be a corrupt form of the Sanskrit word griham (house), but this seems rather fanciful. There are said to have been about two kiriyams for each village. The names of only three are known to me, viz., Karumana, Kaita, and Kampathi. There is a village called Karumana, near the temple of Lakshmipuram in South Canara. Karumana is applied as a term to signify a Tiyan during the ordinary devil-dancing in temples, when an oracular utterance is delivered. The oracle always addresses the Tiyan as โ my Karumana,โ not as โ my Tiyan.โ The only other use of the word is in Karumana acharam (the customs of the Tiyans).

And the first and the oldest veda Rigveda start with the verses of agini ๐ฅ(thi)
And all puthiya bagavathi kavu in north malabar kerala are related with thiyas and thiyas ancestor goddess is called Arya poomaala bagavathi and there is no other god directly called by the name 'Arya' in the entire world
And government is trying to eliminate this unique hindhu caste because of politics even after having a big history thiyas of north malabar don't even have a Wikipedia page as their own and it is blocked by the system and before indian independence British gave so many government job's to thiya caste people but after independence Britain never helped and completely neglected their own kids in this caste and now they are in trouble in india and the great britain is also falling

The largest Indian population is in the tri-state area of NY, NJ and CT where the "combined" Indian population is around 675,000. Yes NY city schools have officially declared "Diwali" as a holiday for all schools. The second largest population is in CA, followed by Tx. Due to focus on education, most Indian tend to stay in cities where professional / academic jobs exist.
Cultural misunderstanding is due to a large number of Indians being quite illiterate about their own culture, they spread the wrong message, based on their ignorance. On the positive side, Yoga has helped a much better understanding with Dalai Lama and his messages about Dharma in general, which explains in simple ways. He is by far the most admired among main stream Americans - in terms of religious tolerance, value of education etc., he is the biggest contributor towards positive understanding about tolerance and kindness.
Indians do portray a strong focus on education - almost every Indian child, whether born is USA or not, will have at least a graduate degree, but significant number have higher degrees in their chosen field.
Another important message Indians have conveyed is about vegetarianism - it is the only country in the world that still has a signficant population of vegetarians. That focus has considerable impact on those who have concern for the global environment - doctors advocating vegetarian diet as healthy etc. Therefore, many educated people have become either vegetarian or vegan. They also see that any Indian temple, many Indian weddings serve only vegetarian food (whether Hindu, Sikh, Jain or Buddhist). That has left a lasting impression on the younger generation, who believe that killing (whether for food or other reasons) is bad

@sudeenasrineetha3012In 2001, Fremont was a calm small town with no traffic and one mall, which did not have crowd even on weekends. Reason is that it is on other side of bayarea. Sunnyvale(El camino real road) was the key area with lot Indian stores. In the same year, some Indian Techies start buying condos in Fremont, because it was way too cheap to buy real estate there. I lived in Santaclara. But I definitely thought Fremont will boom. It is same with Edison,NJ. On week end, you wiil not get parking near the Indian stores. That was in year 2006-2007. Now it will be having heavier parking issue. It is quite natural that with boom, collatral difficulties will come up. All communities need to solve it together. Though I moved out of USA to work in Middle east, Africa and to settle in India, it is good to see very thriving Fremont. Salute the Great American Dream.

@jjsundarIndians are literally everywhere nowadays. 30 years ago, you didn't see much Indians. But now, everywhere. I love a diverse place. But not dominant by one race, Indians. The worst part are they don't just floor the community, but they also change the life style there as well, specially create so much noises at late evening in our neighborhood. So piss me off.
