24 y/o man here, I've always loved computers and just tech in general. I've always wanted to work with them or around them. the other day my steam account was hijacked and they took $400 from me. I got it all back because I had two factor and the back up code but that really gave me an extra push to maybe go the cyber security route, I want to help prevent stuff like that and any other sort of hack/hijack for others. If anyone has any pointers on getting started with, from a employer view, no experience, please leave a reply I'd really appreciate it

I’m confused already. So should I be focusing on these certifications first or going to actual college. I recently found out that I qualify for tuition paid in full because of my disability. I would really like to go back to school and start working towards a career that can ultimately be done remotely. Is this advice for someone looking to break into cybersecurity without a degree, or would I get these same certifications from school or this is something beneficial in addition to, please advise?

you lost me at Google Cyber security, I work in a Blue team as a SOC by the way no serious company would hire you with a Google Certs

@osbal-bysqHi Ben, I have been working as an IT manager for a consulting Firm. Overall IT experience is 24 years and in the Leadership role for pas 9 years. All Cybersecurity and Cloud management was taken care by our central team and so I did not know much about them. Now that I am between jobs, what course and certifications can help me understand the basics of Cyber Security and Cloud and AI that can help me boost my knowledge and adds value to my CV. Thanks for your guidance
@MukunthKRISHNASWAMYIs it good to go to college to get a bachelors degree in cyber security also
@ronniemosley9784Smiles2U! 😀...
@jenniferschwartz-owens8232I understood this so fast I checked my pulse.
@김철웅-l1fguys is 14 a good age to start learning how to code also any recommendations what language I should learn first?
@Faizan-b4r1bbefore I do all this is should I realistically start with networking first? if you have no knowledge in networking and you're trying to jump into cybersecurity, wouldn't that mean you cannot protect what you can't see what you don't understand? why would you recommend jumping into security+ then doing networking second? what if I don't care about cybersecurity right now but eventually dive into it, I want to learn the basics that other things would click easier if I learn it. I've heard that cyber security is basically senior level and is almost impossible to having a job from no in real time experience
@TheDantes12345I’m new to this Ben looking to learn.🎉
@tonyaholland7300Hi everyone 👋
I’m completely new to cybersecurity and I don’t have an IT background. I’m really interested in building a career in this field, but I’m struggling financially and can’t afford expensive courses.
I’ve seen a lot of mixed opinions — some people say cybersecurity has a great future, while others say AI might replace jobs or that it’s too hard to get into. That honestly confuses and scares me.
I’m willing to work hard and stay consistent, but I don’t know where to start or what path to follow.
If anyone here has experience, please guide me:
• What should I learn first?
• What free resources can I use?
• How can I eventually start earning from cybersecurity?
Even small advice would mean a lot to me. Thank you 🙏
Im not really a tech savvy individual. I worked in manufacturing for 15yrs but with my injury and disability I’m no longer able. I wanna start a career in It cybersecurity but i have no idea how this world works and its extremely intimidating. Lord help me please, i need to provide for my wife and kids 😢
@Hankxiong19 here hopefully I'll make my time worth and get my future started, wish me luck and good luck to you all
@tahakashif1446hi ben would you recommend taking like cisco courses cybersecurity?
@minnunnimThis is the best video i have seen. All the other videos i have watched dont explain why i need the certification, and or showing me outdated roadmaps. This video really helped me especially that im still in high school and want to start early so i can have a little edge on the rest of my peers ❤
@apeinmanCool video. Thanks.
@BlackswanflySo going to a tech school is or is not viable?
@wildboris1Thanks for making this video and sharing your insight :)
@snorretechThis is pretty much what I was looking for. However, I'm wondering if a degree in computer science with cyber-security would be better? Probably longer and more expensive, but besides those details, whats the difference between both path (going through all the ertifications mentionned here VS the degree)
@bb2628The real question here is is this path still valid for 2026??
@romala-z9gEight courses? So how many certificates and how much will it cost me in total?
@amysson5151I’m 85 and learning cybersecurity
@rogerbrown376I am 18 years old and am trying to get started but don't know what course to take, any suggestions? I know I want a job in cybersecurity but don't know the specific niche quite yet.
@Bryce-AbbanI'm 17 years old and i study cyber security in the university, what courses should i start taking.

@JAYSOUND509Thank you for this vid!!!
@Maly-Mal954I keep seeing all this ai written posts about skills being more useful than certs in the beginning. What would you recommend for obtaining skills?
@gewber4045Do we need to go to college? Like is it worth it? Or these certifications you mentioned are enough!
