I voted for Tom because I firmly believe he has the form, the vision, and the economic nous to be the right person, at the right time, to truly serve the people of California as our next 'Climate Conscious Governor'. This election is a choice between the status quo/corporate candidate (Becerra) or an insurgent/change agent candidate (Steyer). I want change and I trust Tom to make it happen.

The statement it could take days to count votes is very concerning. It shouldn’t. This is after all 2026. Is it because we don’t have enough people counting the votes? The reason is because democrat voters tend to vote later? Why? There should be a strong cutoff for mail date just like in person. Any mail that comes in after that deadline which should be the same for all voters will not be counted. There is no good reason for late voters. Just excuses. They have plenty of time to vote.

Democrats weren't voting yet because they want to know how the polling looks before putting pen to paper on the gubernatorial primary election. A bad move could lock Democrats out of the running due to the jungle primary setup. I think you'll see plenty of participation, but it will be more last minute.

The jungle primary is no substitute for closed primaries and general elections with ranked choice voting (RCV). RCV rewards centrism ultimately while letting the electorate support a minor party that is closer to their actual political preference than either of the two major parties. The two major parties do not want this. Between them, they have a monopoly. That's how they like it.
