Data centers are not ready for prime time since they use too much electricity and fresh water which is in short supply

Internet works fine without them.

Perhaps they could build them deep underground where it’s naturally cool, and they wouldn’t take up needed space on land.

Why cant they build them in the in cold environments ? With controlled venting to cool off ? Shutters that let in the cold air ?

Even knowing how they work, I still don't want one near me.

Now that energy consumption is going to reach critical levels basically no one is stopping to think. This might be bad, and how it is already affecting daily life. Slow and methodic take over.

Why isn’t it possible with modern technology and engineering to build a self sufficient data centre? A data centre that uses its own hydro and recycled water? Then data centres wouldn’t be such an impact on local communities and economies.

So they want everyone to go green and sustainable so they can funnel as much power as possible to these data centers, gotcha...

I think we will have less robust facilities in the future.. Memories will be stored in ultra small containers or capsules and we will store them at home. That's why the new technology will be way cheaper and investing in data centers a total disaster..
