How Breaking Bad Pulled Off An Impossibly Perfect Finale

Video Overview & Insights

When it comes to wrapping up a beloved television show, none have done it better than Breaking Bad. The AMC Smash Hit starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul didn't overstay it's welcome, and delivered an incredible finale that will probably never be rivaled. Breaking Bad's final episode Felina encompasses everything the show had to offer during its run. Now the ending of Better Call Saul, gives the ending of Breaking Bad that much more weight.

Should we cover Better Call Saul's finale next?

More like an impossibly far-fetched ending, especially the perfectly-timed and located machine gun and the perfectly-timed death.

I remember back in 2013 hoping the finale wouldn't be a dud that brought the greatest show of all time to a mediocre end, but they crushed the finale! 👍👍

Most endings are so disappointing. Not this one. I was sitting with my nose practically on the TV watching it.

In the face of today's series finales, Games of Thrones, Stranger Things, and The Boys, Breaking Bad remains undefeated.

One thing I immidiately thought of that I see people not talking about is the phone conversation between Walt and Lydia is heard by Jessie where Walt confirms what he used the rycin for, immidiately confirming that he used only a little on Brock to not kill him or make him real harm, that rycin was for killing someone he needs to kill. Jessie realizes it, he still despises Walt but in their goodbye it feels like the message came through which gave Jessie a bit of relief and I think it impacted positively his further reaction when being finally free.

Walt was always man who was monsterus, he just needed a reason to do what he wanted. The final episodes were absolutely perfect and the show in its entirety is 10/10.

One of my favorite details ever: the pressure gauge measures 86, which originates from a NYC speakeasy on 86 Bedford St, from which patrons would exit to escape the police. In this scene, Walt escapes from the police by dying (exiting). And pressure, especially for large tanks like those, is measured in bars.

This series is undoubtedly the best in history.

Best season finale of all time. Finally a show gets it right! Some of the best shows out there have terrible finales and Breaking Bad is not one of them they absolutely nailed it.

Walter and Lydia both DID NOT DIE at the end of the episode!

I absolutely loved the finale but I didn't find jack and his crew as compelling villains compared to Gus. Gus had 2 and a half seasons of a story arc where as Jack only really appears half way through season 5. Still great ending though, probably my favourite TV series ending for a show.

i think walt was Good untill the death of jane, after that it was pure ego trip and balls show off lol, and its understandable, he lived his whole like as a meek person that people look down on, as soon as you give power to someone like that, they get addicted and dont want to let go.

The last TV show that agrees with the audience, in desiring even just a few Main loose Ends tied up and capped. The whole "sUbVeRt EpEcTaTiOnS" thing needs to end.

I think it is 9.5/10 Finale because I would wanna see what happens after his death.

Walt was a stooge that accidented himself in to everything he did

@JuanMurphy45

Personally, I would like to have seen Walt go out in a bit of a blaze of glory and on better terms with his family but I was ok with the way it ended. Without adding new content I probably would have had Walt's final scene be him wiping out Todd's gang but not surviving the ordeal. Whether it was a confrontation with the gang or with Jesse, I think that would have been a better ending for him. He's still a bad guy but goes out on at least a bit of a redemption arch protecting his family, avenging Hank, and saving Jesse (even if Jesse hated him at that point).

Also, Felina is a cool reference to Marty Robbin’s song El Paso - a cowboy is ran out of El Paso but eventually returns to see the love of his life but dies from a gunshot wound in his side.. just like Walt. You even hear the song when he starts up that car in the beginning of the episode. That was really brilliant!

Now THIS is how you write a finale Stranger Things

Idk I feel like the episodes prior to Felina left so much more to be anticipated to the point where it felt underwhelming, some neos and side characters get killed and thats about it

Ozymandias was basically the finale, and the last two episodes were a (very) well-executed coda

the fact that it had one of, if not the best 1st episode, and last episode is crazy
