Quit complaining and deal with it! People need to take responsibility....fema has been there since last week. My son and power team has been there since last Thursday....from HI....I lived in Fairbanks AK for 23 years. People are all about excuses now!

I feel so bad for those ones without power. 😮 We had a ice storm last April in Ontario. We were out of power, no heat for 9 days. Some were two weeks. It was cold but not like this. We are in the -20 zone at night. So I can't imagine how cold they are. 🙏

This storm was not some freak event. Everyone saw it coming. Funny how Trump didn't call up the guard or mobilize federal troops to help with the emergency but he did for his immigration crap. You get what you voted for I guess

This is going to happen more and more. Everywhere needs to weatherize their infrastructure for ALL kinds of weather. Northern states need to be ready for scorching heat. Deep Southern States need to be ready for blistering cold. On top of the normal worsening of their expected norms like the increasingly high probability of a category 6 Hurricane hitting the Atlantic and/or Gulf of Mexico coast.

For those of you who don't know what global warming is, it does not mean everyone is going to get warmer weather like trump thinks🙄 Global warming causes increased snowfall in the Southern U.S. by destabilizing the polar vortex and jet stream, allowing Arctic air to plunge southward, while simultaneously increasing atmospheric moisture. Rapid Arctic warming reduces the temperature contrast that normally keeps cold air contained, forcing it into lower latitudes.  Reasons for Southern snowfall are wavy Jet Stream (Polar Vortex) which means a warmer Arctic weakens the jet stream, making it wavier. A "dipping" jet stream allows frigid Arctic air to reach as far south as Texas and Louisiana.
