Gorn Attack The Enterprise and SCOTTY comes aboard - Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x10- "Hegemony"

Video Overview & Insights

The Gorn attack the Enterprise and another legacy TOS member beams aboard the Enterprise for the first time.

The camera movement is obnoxious. Rotating the camera across the bridge to deliver a line of dialogue does not make the dialogue any more interesting

Also Space Above and Beyond Called - they want their bad guys back.

I do not own this content, credit goes to Paramount and producers.

Oh no thia is the one ruined by diversity.

Terrific ending scene showing that pike for all his skills and talents is not a warrior but an explorer and isn’t infallible when it comes to dealing with such war threatening scenarios as baiance of terror alternate episode showed only too well.

Of course in Gene Roddenberry's Jeffrey Hunter/Pike, William Shatner/Kirk, Leonard Nimoy/Spock, James Doohan/Scotty, Nichelle Nichols/Uhura, Majel Barrett/Number One & Chapel and Booker Bradshaw/M'Benga (where he is actually a young JUNIOR doctor in his late TWENTIES who doesn't serve his first tour of duty aboard the Enterprise until the late 2260s under Leonard McCoy's command rather than a forty-something veteran of a Klingon war who is the Enterprise's Chief Medical Officer) PRIME Universe, although the first Federation Starship to encounter the Gorn Hegemony is the Enterprise, that first contact doesn't arrive until 2268 and under KIRK'S command after the Gorn destroy the Cestus III outpost in the episode "Arena". Indeed, it is Kirk HIMSELF who becomes the first Starfleet Officer to come face-to-face with a Gorn and a METRON. But as Alex Kurtzman DESPISES all Gene Roddenberry/Rick Berman pre-2009 Star Trek, ESPECIALLY TOS, why would he have any interest in attempting to match up events in his own Strange ALTERNATE Universe with those of the PRIME one where Spock was Kirk's only officer who remained on the Enterprise from Pike's time in command? Scotty, Uhura, Chapel and M'Benga only became Enterprise officers after Kirk became captain. More to the point, in Kurtzman's strange ALTERNATE Universe, do versions of Doctors Phillip Boyce and Mark Piper, Lieutenant Jose Tyler and Yeoman Mia Colt portrayed in TOS Pilot episode "The Cage" by John Hoyt, Peter Duryea and Laurel Goodwin, with Paul Fixx portraying Mark Piper in the second Pilot: "Where No Man Has Gone Before" not EXIST in this Universe as no mention has EVER being made of them? In the PRIME Universe of course, Phillip Boyce who is Pike's CMO throughout the 2250s and 60s is directly replaced by Mark Piper when Kirk takes command in 2264. In the sequel episode "The Menagerie", Kirk reveals to Commodore Mendez he had only ever met Pike ONCE, yet Paul Wesley's Kirk is hardly ever OFF Anson Mount's Pike's Enterprise, he also revealed no other of his officers but Spock served under Pike, meaning Phillip Boyce would have been his CMO right up until he relinquished command to Kirk as in the PRIME Universe 2261, the 21 year old Joseph M'Benga was probably one of the mature students at Starfleet Academy. To conclude, as a Star Trek fan of fifty one years, I'm absolutely DELIGHTED to hear the SNW Enterprise sets have now been torn down and that SHOULD all but END the possibility of another one of Kurtzman's proposed abominations, 'Year One' from ever happening, indeed it hopefully also heralds the long-awaited END of Alex Kurtzman's decade-long divisive stranglehold of the franchise when his contract expires on the 31st of August. Good RIDDANCE!!!

The problem with this version of the Gorn is they are so much like wild animals there is no way they would have advanced beyond primitive tribes.

This is #2 right behind TOS ! Light Years better than PICARD !

I feel they dont have enough flashy background lights in every room, especially the bridge to distract us from the generally simple dialogue... one thing about set designers in the trek universe, they cant settle on consistency from series to series...now we have to look like a disco

The. Gorn. As in the alien race the Federation didn't even know existed (I believe the term Spock used was "unverified space legends" in TOS S01 E18) until well after Kirk took command of the Enterprise, and Pike had been shipped off to Talos IV to live his best drooling doorstop life ? Those Gorn ? Be honest. How many of the writers over there at paramount got busted for plagiarism in college ? 85% ? 90% ? More ?

Eeew - icky yucky slimy Gorn. Ripped straight from the movie "Aliens," only now instead of slithering beasts that grip your face, they lay eggs inside you. Game over man, game over. Nuke 'em, it's the only way to be sure.

Aired just after the "singing episode". Seriously, doesn't Disney (CBS) have any original ideas left? You can't sue them, Disney has too much money, plus the political resources of the deep state.

Gee, all the pieces are falling into place, eh? They also already have a milk-toast Kirk. Their next scam/move is to reboot the Original Series. It’s so pathetic and sad. If you like this, you’re not a ST fan. I do like Captain Pike and most of the cast, i was on board for awhile — the show di e d for me when Spock “lost his Vulcan half” or whatever, and then they had the musical episode? It was then that i realized the show was just going to rely heavily on gimmicks.

The gorn meet Kirk’s Enterprise, so did Scotty.

@ratfinkie62

Former Trekkie... Here to cordially inform you that everyone's now a spineless b*tch and has no idea WTF is going on from one episode to the next. Pike swings like Tarzan from one co-dependent vine to another. It would be the one primary male lead character with all the XP that goes foggy and can't process combat... right?

@wj3947

Spock saying he's sorry, Pike hugging people and they are fighting the Gorn. Are fn kidding me? I am so glad i did not watch this pathetic crap. Good fn God!
