GOODYEAR VS COOPER TIRE (WHICH ONE IS BETTER?)

Good year is way overpriced and overrated..

I noticed that the Cooper CS5 Ultra Touring tires have “INSIDE” and “OUTSIDE” mounting instructions. While I understand that, are these bi-directional, meaning they can be rotated to the other side of the car in a typical cross pattern? Or should they remain on the same side when rotating? Thank you!

Must disagree. I have Goodyear Wrangler SRA on a Denali Yukon, and Cooper AT3 on a 2500 HD Duramax. While I understand the difference in the applications, the Goodyears are SO smooth and quiet. The Coopers get louder every day. They whine, dont drive well, and I cannot keep air in them. At least one is constantly losing air, slowly I admit, but leaking all the same. I really wanted the Cooper HT 3s, but were not in stock when I needed new tires. I will not have another set of Cooper AT3s.

OEMs keeps installing the Goodyear SRA tires becasue they are cheap and they work for what they need to do. If you want Goodyear to actually inovate, OEMs needs to stop buying these tires and actually start installing good tires from the getgo instead of cheaping out.

In Third World Countries GoodYear are better and have more durability than Cooper Tires.

The Goodyear LS2 would have been a better match up with Cooper then the Goodyear SRA

The SRA tires are the worst! A few years ago, I was in VA on I77 going about 70-75 MPH. Brand new tire, blew out. Good thing I made it to the exit before it broke apart. I felt the steel belts inside the tire start to seperate. Made my ride crazy. Got to the exit, the entire thing blew. I replaced it with a Cooper Brand, (Mastercraft)

I use to work in the tire industry so to make this determination you need to pick apples for apples.

Goodyear Wrangler is the ONLY Goodyear tire I've EVER had excellent service life experience with. I don't have a lot of experience with Cooper but I've noticed a set I have seems to be holding up well over time. Good job, Cooper!
I'll admit I'm no sucker for tread pattern, I need a reliable tire the doesn't rot, remains round and doesn't blow out. I've never had a problem with the Wrangler meeting these basic requirements, where plenty of others have failed horribly.

I would recommend that you never put GOODYEAR TIRES on anything, their terrible tires these days, there are better tires for the money on the market, do a little homework and you will see what I mean.

I have a Cooper tires and I will say that they have been better than even the Bridgestone's that came on my car new. From what I have heard about Goodyear from my friends that have them and they have said that Goodyear has gotten to big for their britches and really their tires are not what they use to be.

Call my C with a Cooper is a tread design turning hard on the right looks well done but if you turn hard on the left it's a different tread pattern and the weight disposition and the Turning wheel is going to be much different so I see a flaw in terms of it being anywhere near High Performance Tire

The materials used on cooper tires are crap.

The Cooper tires may very well be better, but nothing you said convinced me of that, so I'll have to go elsewhere to make an informed decision.

I have cooper evolutions on my Tahoe and my grandfather has CS5 ultras on this sorento. They are great tires. Will will be replacing the goodyears on my moms van with CS5 ultras.

Honestly if you guys want the absolute best bang for your buck, buy Uniroyal Tiger Paw touring tires. Especially now since they updated them with a higher treadwear rating.. And for those who "only buy mitchelin", Uniroyal is a Michelin brand.

Cooper has bead leaking issues.. And they tried to cover it up. I work 57 hours a week selling and installing tires.. Coopers are great until the bead leaks start. Cleaning the wheel and putting bead sealer on it is the only remedy and only holds for so long. We stopped pushing cooper's as much because of it.

You are comparing a truck tire to a car tire we sell both and had Cooper tires recalled due to tread separation. If you want an apples to apples comparison do that Cooper to a comfortread or eagle sport

I have been buying Goodyear tires for four years now. Brand new and it always seems that they always, always warp and separate even with good tread on them. I think I am going to switch to a new brand.
