Golders Green terror shows rising threat to world Jews
Video Overview & Insights
Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world.
During ww2, in the soviet union, 1200 jewish people a day were killed for 2 years.
ToI founding editor David Horovitz joins host Jessica Steinberg for today's episode.
As the US and Iran continue talks regarding a permanent deal, Horovitz says the regime feels it has established control over the Strait of Hormuz and views the US as vulnerable.
The IRGC rejected the proposal.
Horovitz discusses the deal-making tendencies of Trump, a way of thinking that ultimately worked in favor of the Hamas hostage deal, but is harder to achieve with the dilemmas in Iran, with Hezbollah in Lebanon and with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Following Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's recent comment that former prime minister Naftali Bennettâs decision to include the Islamist Raâam party in his 2021-2022 government was far worse than the governmental failures tied to Hamasâs October 7, 2023, onslaught, Horovitz comments on the level of political hostility and the absence of empathy among Netanyahu's government for all the bereaved Israelis and hostage families.
I think itâs important to complete the picture of the stabbing incidents by mentioning that the same perpetrator had stabbed a Muslim person who was known to him in South London/Southwark the same day and is being charged for the attempted murders of all three .. he has a known history of serious violence and mental health issues .. adding this information to the picture is not an attempt to diminish what happened to the two victims in Golders Green but to provide a fuller picture than the one being portrayed in the British and US media where only the two Jewish victims are being mentioned ..
Finally, Horovitz reflects on the recent Golders Green stabbing attack, an iteration of the antisemitic attacks happening all over the Jewish diaspora, and how the British government has handled the situation.

@lasanthadesilva4705Your anger and concern about the recent attacks against the British Jewish Community is understandable. What you have not addressed is the role of Israel in triggering these attacks against Jewish Communities outside of Israel. The tsunami of anger against Israel has happened for what is has done in Gaza - such as the murder of 22 000 children-, allowing violent settlers to illegally take over Palestinian land in the West Bank, the illegal war against Iran and the IDF's second campaign of annexation of Southern Lebanon. Whether people like it or not Jewish Communities outside of Israel are viewed as Outposts of Israel particularly because there has been absolute silence from these communities about what Israel has done in Gaza, the West Bank, illegal war against Iran and the campaign to annex Southern Lebanon. In other words what Israel is doing in the Middle East represents a clear and present danger to the Outposts of Israel.
