German Squad Tactics in World War 2

Video Overview & Insights

German Squad Tactics in World War 2. The German infantry squad was the mainstay of the German Wehrmacht in the Second World War. This video explores the basic organization of a German infantry squad, the concept of fire and movement, the deployment of the MG34 and its relation to the other squad members, as well as regular military tactics. Finally, there is an example of an attack on an enemy position.

For late-war German infantry tactics involving the StG44 (MP 44 / MP 43) check out our book:

Traducción correcta del inglés al español:
Squad = Escuadra.
Aunque la unidad del Ejército estadounidense llamada "squad" corresponde al pelotón del Ejército español en tamaño, composición y funciones.
No es lo mismo la traducción que la equivalencia.

Squadron = Escuadrón

En este video es incorrecto llamar al jefe de la unidad jefe del escuadrón.

En el Ejército español el que lleva la ametralladora se denomina tirador. El que lleva la munición se denomina proveedor.

Very interesting video , the logistics of running thousands of units like this would’ve been mind boggling without computers and limited communication capabilities

Also insgesamt 2x 6 Ladestreifen a 5 Schuss. Zusammen also 12 Ladestreifen mit insgesamt 60 Schuss.

The German army didn't use heavy machine guns. The MG34 and MG42 were light machine guns, even when they were mounted on a tripod.
Besides that. I really like your videoes.

@Harte74

How would the Germans have organized the 10 man squads with the new assault rifles, o seen your video already about the stormtruppen platoon, but they had two 8 man squads, how would they have organized the a regular squad alone to fight, with the new STG 44's

Another one tactic, is whàt they do to my grandfather and Another 28 people in the village,arrest them,put them in a farm house and burn them alive.And Another one tactic was the Slaughtery or the holocaust of KALAVRYTA MY WIFES VILLAGE,IN PELOPONNESE THAT THEY KILL ALL THE MEN THAT THEY FOUND,ALL AGES,FROM LITTLE BOYS TO THE OLDEST MAN,TOTALLY MORE THAN 1.100 PERSONS AND BURN MORE THAN 1000 HOUSES IN 13 OF DECEMBER 1943.NOT TO MENTION OTHER ATROCITIES- TACTICS IN GREECE....

so the tactics/formations are basicly the same until now. We had the same order and movement in basic training

Where did a sharpshooter or sniper man fit into the squad or platoon, I would think if you had a squad of 10 men having one soldier armed with a scoped rifle would enhance the squad firepower more than a machine gun in certain situations, were rifle optics too expensive to issue in large numbers or I am overestimating a soldier with a scoped rifles value in combat?

How would the Gewehr 43 play into this. Would it go to the riflemen? Also how would other guns be implemented such as the stg44, Panzerfaust, Panzerschreck, etc.

Didn't work with Dad's squad . The took two SS squads. Dad said "'So they were Hitler's best" ❓He tricked the to come in . They shouldered up against trees and just shot random rounds and yelled " I'm out " ❗ Dad was 100 percent Dutch and far superior to Germans so he did have an edge . They hung the one's that were captured. His down fall is he had compassion for the common German soldier . He was in charge of a gun squad and a day before him and his men broke into Bastogne. Dad ran for two pinned down soldier's after lobbing a round to get them to run . He ran a hit one and sat down to take care of him. The other soldier got the drop on him but the dying soldier plead for his life . He spent 6 months as one of ": Hitler's POWs " He felt that the average German soldier was at a disadvantage though due to being stuck with a bolt. He said it was not good in street warfare, but a very good rifle. He did the German granades and feared the 88.

GERMAN SQUID GAME TACTICS

@Ibgbbfhhgghbjbvy
@

The German War Tactics taught here is highly ideal and is less possible to be implemented.
First, each soldier is human and is likely to follow the rules during the war time because of panic. Each will follow their natural instinct to shoot and take cover anytime.
Second, each soldier is mortal and makes the whole squad or platoon incomplete. Once the vital elements in either group get dead, the whole rules get paralyzed and cannot be implemented.
Therefore, any tactics that pertains to the importance of the roles of each element in a group cannot be implemented realistically because of the human nature of the elements. In short, tactics like this can only be materialized if the elements are cyborgs or robots.
