Its just a pity Tuchel did not tell the rest of his team Gordon was playing. For the majority of the game he stood on the left side touchline as a spectator. His strength is running at the defenders and either crossing into the penalty area or coming inside and having a pop.

Only thing I can nitpick is the there wasn’t much going on with the left side for 2/3rds of the game until rashy came on. Hard to say what was missing.

But Right side was perfect, even more so when Saka, and especially Spence came on the attack.

Gary Lineker says Harry Kane is the greatest footballer who ever played for England. Because he has scored one more goals than Lineker. So Bobby Charlton who played in some of the greatest England teams of all time isn't up to Kane's standard's. Everything is subjective and Kane is playing in teams with sub standard players. In the World Cup, you have to mix things up, old & young. As a Manchester United fan I’m not comfortable with Maguire at the back especially when he’s in a 1v1 situation or when he’s on the ball but no where in the world will you pick Konsa or Burn ahead of Maguire, England need a dominant defender like Maguire in the squad, his ability cancels off his deficiencies, he doesn’t have to start all the games but he should be in the squad ahead of Konsa & Burn. The midfield is not balanced as well, you need a Mainoo in midfield for control, Madueke is better off coming off the bench as he can run at tired legs defence. All the same, I’m not convinced with England unless they get favourable draws as the competition progresses.

It was a joy to Watch this game. I have never seen a more complete and synergic English team. Everybody knew their role and knew what to do. Even Kane playing midfield and throwing himself in front of the ball? Incredible. That is the Tuchel effect.
