— @managersplaybook

Former EPIC Records exec Chris Anokute breaks down what AI means for artists, the future of artist development, and why record deals are all about leverage, rights, and perspective. In Part 2 of The Manager’s Playbook convo with Chris, he talks Suno, AI music, IP concerns, independent artist strategy, building leverage from zero, and what it really takes to break artists in today’s music industry.

Whether you’re an independent artist, manager, music executive, or producer, this episode is packed with insight on AI in music, record deals, artist development, music marketing, audience growth, and the future of the music business.

🤔🤔🤔

— @ThePapastee

Simply put, a conversation like this doesn't come cheap.

Chapters:

They’re training the suno models off of timbo’s contests and live. Artists send in their music and they load and teach suno with everything people send in willingly. Then charge you to use it. Lol, crazy type finesse

The man's right, just shut up because the world is moving on. A lot of music out there is an absolute pile of crap and brain rot.

I'm actually using Suno to make the kind of music that I want to hear and wow, it's currently cheaper than a Spotify subscription.

07:16 No Such Thing as a Bad Deal

The funny thing is with all this it's always concerning people making something and selling something now the problem is with this current era we're living in no one seems to mention the reality of what's actually going on you have a bunch of guys in silicon valley that have more spying power than Hitler they can sell you any device any app and generators to make whatever your heart's desire but usually this will always tip into a discussion of people needing to prove something or who felt held back or have spent their life doing something I didn't make any money and would like to get money back now anyway I will tell you as a guy who started in the 80s and had to change with every decade and this goes into 6 different cycles there was only so many stages in the downtown City area then all the bands that existed their applying right now to the '50s age crowd outside in burba but it's still musty pubs the crowd is usually divorces it's all 1980s cover bands and they started charging $25 to go in that was in the part of the map where they put the single mother's in public housing but then that group stopped playing you can see their house out my front door and they formed a super group with other musicians and other bands so I started here at the bottom of the world they started going around the country predominantly Sydney Melbourne to old cinema theatres the kind of places that no one's really seen full for many decades and now it's completely full for a cover band who like television is selling itself as this perfect singer an excellent talented idiot of singing now when it's not your music and you've heard it 1 million times you can play it on any instruments just like the CD which is what they're doing and what everyone is going to watch now honestly I asked you if this right now was someone new or someone making their own stuff that's the biggest curse that you can't get anyone in there let alone fill that place halfway back in the day the same thing was being done in Frisco when I was the 60s and those psychedelic bands at the end of the decade who were global and we're not talking about garage bands halfway in the decade who were more local regional stars they never had a chart topper or a chart hit that we'll all stars of their local strip even though those guys got sent to the Vietnam war because they got drafted the big names that came at the end of the 60s got very global so when you had The Beatles touring the influenced a million bands to start and then 100,000 bars for music had started so the demand to go and play was there and the local bands were pretty much school buddies that we're taking on the world and some squad some real classic hits that right now are getting good views on YouTube for a bunch of guys in a van with valve head amplifiers now once again those people didn't chart and they didn't have any budget or any kind of business behind them they just got in the van and it shows that places that we're jims or holes and so forth no pa no mixing board they plug the microphone into an amplifier now this was a good thing because it forced aggression out of those bands which you can hear in the music and that is what put everyone off p and they were seen as really violent and feral but the truth is the albums that we all know now we're made through the studios and labels and the people who were executives pulling them back always to make something to head onto AM radio so basically in Los Angeles you're living in Laurel canyon you took a 5-minute drive down the strip then shows and then you went on to the TV station which was just around the corner by about a mile here at the bottom of the world are banned existed within a 10-minute drive radius from all the stages cos that's how far I grew up away from the downtown City district today all this does not mean nothing so you can't go then really do anything it's been reduced to just two musty pubs and a very ugly feral unemployed crowd from public housing that seems to control the entire social sphere that revolves around those places so you're never going to get a crowd watching in the numbers that you might envision in a Hollywood movie and what really exists out there cannot be passed through those places now you have to remember 20 years later there was a revival happening during the 1980s and people actually doing 50s rock and roll and they were making movies like the heavenly kid it was in back to the Future and it started with John Lennon's cover bands album and then it went through grease up until the video hire store era no you're trying to explain this to people now because the revival that we're seeing since the virus is hauntogy basically the 1980s came to the rescue but went not talking about your general person's hit list we're talking more obscure stuff the real stuff that didn't really chart and once again these are the regional players the regional hits that people remember and like now but don't really want the top 40 big budget label made hits through all the technology back then basically had a early 80s which was like live bands in the vein of cure who then changed and went Edward Scissorhands videos and pop but what started the 80s didn't continue past 84 because Japan mass produced a lot of technology which changed the whole landscape then you could not make a video without 2 million dollars and that was the norm also by the end of the 80s we had the start of this era which we are in now through omega computers and affects being used at home to make dance hits for the nightclub on Friday and Saturday night I want to add at 15 years old as I looked older and I danced to that stuff now you might think this is all crazy and everything's left that but it hasn't because guys use omegas on stage at raves but what really changed things was not just the computers and the technology they let that one single on a cassingle goal be able to chart this is why we had so many one hit wonders and the smash hits magazine type pop coming out of England took over the whole formula and basically the technology did not prevail what prevailed was the change in the charting you also had another section to discuss with walkmans changing the quality of musics being served over on the mediums to suit the Walkman setup list all then went through the videos and then take it home DVDs plastic media which came along with the cable boom and basically the cable TV shows that were being made for teenagers have spawn the current Superstars now which are all girls like Miley Selena Sabrina etc I don't think anyone's really listening to radio anymore I had my own show but I'm not going to talk about that at all even though after years of doing shows and being in bands and recording it was there that I got offered a performance spot at an outdoor festival first thing in the morning the hours building a house and I broke up my band and was doing the radio show so I could not give it all up and be homeless now as so many people are and the whole point of all this is to earn money so you can buy a place to live which I did it never was about living with your parents forever as a worker who is the landlord that sits in your kid days bedroom making fantabulous singing like a TV karaoke talent contest this is what we have filling up Instagram and tiktok it is irritating and YouTube has had all the real people of every decade displays by GarageBand apps last year and the year before which now has given way to AI any search you do by genre will lead you to nothing real and nothing that existed in former decades it takes you to playlists full of AI so what this will affect in the long run is consuming done by first time people youngsters or even that small amount of people who still don't have a phone or computers at home and I just getting their first device and are going onto YouTube for the first time now there was a girl here watching my band in 96 and she had her own band but playing in the east and the city I was in the west and she scored a billion views on YouTube with her music video and the thing is she was the only person in all of Australia to ever achieve that although ACDC has caught up now with one video now I've got to tell you she was in a band in the 90s doing the typical nightclub stage which was all funk and 70s influence and really out of fashion now she left that and was discovered by the guy and the Black eyed peas who gave her a solo deal and she hit big on her voices power now she wore a big huge wig and hid her face cuz she never was good looking and she loved my brother's friend who hated her and this is what all of the material is about but at the same time being on Ellen degeneres and using a little girl in your videos to be some kind of dancer is kind of weird to most people but they didn't know her now for everyone else you have your ghetto stars and you have your real ego maniac but you are looking now today at 25-year-old women who grew up as two groups being the Justin Bieber fans or else the One direction fans they have not even made it to 25 and are seeing themselves as being old that is what all this hyper selling and pop has caus ed it used to be before that you had people take their collections for their generational time through their life and if lucky you got a few books and a couple of movies and that's what you live by what we've been seeing so far is every age group that's since the late 90s throwing their stuff away they don't go looking for odd stuff or the whole lot they just go with the next new thing now Sabrina last Christmas the year before scored two Top 40 number ones not told her to do a bikinis on the beach video when the northern hemisphere goes to winter which she did and here it was summer when it came on 91 really noticed they're not even on the beach it's filmed at a reservoir but it worked and she hit big cuz she was touring with Taylor Swift

I think some people who turn everything to God are severely blinded in some aspects of humanity. The good absolutely do not always win. Evil people have been successful and rewarded for 1000s of years and never pay for any harm they caused. They die rich and content. And a decent person can lose everything and end up on the streets. And die there. And not one of the 3 billion people on the planet knows or cares. God will not be showing up to clean up the mess humans created. This view is short sighted.

*CENTAURA*

*Professional Pitch Deck*

Human Soul + AI Power. Zero Slop. Professional Music Only.

*The Premium Hybrid Music Platform for AI-Assisted Creation, Certification, and Streaming*

Built by *Centaur Producers* for elite creators and serious listeners.

Presentation ready — copy directly into PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Keynote

---

*Slide 1: Title*

*Centaura*

Human Soul × AI Power. Zero Slop.

The First True Centaur-Powered Hybrid Music Platform

Professional Music Creation • Strict Quality Certification • Premium Streaming

Presented by Centaur Producers

[Your Name / Date]

---

*Slide 2: The Problem – The 2026 AI Music Crisis*

AI generation tools have flooded the industry with low-quality content.

- *44% of daily uploads* on major platforms are now AI-generated (~75,000 tracks per day on Deezer alone).

- AI tracks account for *<3% of actual streams* — the majority are bot-driven or fraudulent.

- Listeners are increasingly turning away from generic “AI slop.”

- Real artists and producers lose revenue as royalty pools are diluted.

- Platforms (Spotify removed *75 million spammy tracks* in one year) are struggling to filter the noise.

*Result:* Discovery is broken, trust is gone, and the market is saturated with soulless, repetitive music.

(Visual: Split image — cluttered Spotify playlist vs. clean, high-quality track list)

---

*Slide 3: What “No Slop” Actually Looks Like*

*Centaura enforces a hard quality standard — slop literally cannot exist on our platform.*

| Aspect | *AI Slop (What’s Everywhere in 2026)* | *Centaura No-Slop (What We Deliver)* |

|---------------------|------------------------------------------------------------------|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

| *Sound & Emotion* | Bland, repetitive, emotionally flat — “algorithm bait” | Deep emotional impact with clear human intention |

| *Vocals* | Robotic, metallic artifacts, over-processed | Expressive phrasing, natural breath, nuanced delivery |

| *Structure* | Predictable 8-bar loops that never evolve | Dynamic builds, intentional contrast, professional arrangement |

| **Mix & Production**| Muddy, glitchy, low-effort mastering | Studio-grade polish and balance |

| *Originality* | Heavy clones of viral hits (e.g., mass “Angels Above Me” remixes)| Unique creative voice with deliberate human edits |

| *Transparency* | No backstory, fake artists, zero proof | Full “Behind the Centaur” story + exact human/AI contribution % |

| *Volume Control* | Mass-produced spam (50+ similar tracks/day) | Strictly limited — every track must pass human + AI quality gate |

*Every release is Centaur Certified.* Pure AI uploads are auto-blocked.

---

*Slide 4: Our Solution*

*Centaura is the anti-slop revolution.*

We are *not* another generic AI generator (Suno, Udio, ElevenLabs).

We are *not* a simple streaming app.

Centaura is the *first true hybrid platform* where:

- Elite human producers (the Centaur Producers collective) lead creation.

- Powerful custom AI tools accelerate the process.

- Strict human-in-the-loop rules + quality gates guarantee professional results.

*Outcome:* Studio-quality music that respects artistry, cuts through the noise, and actually gets listened to.

---

*Slide 5: The Centaur Hybrid Model (Recommended Full-Stack Platform)*

*Not streaming-only. Not tools-only.*

*The complete Creator-to-Listener experience:*

1. *Create* — Advanced AI-assisted studio with human refinement.

2. *Certify* — Mandatory human approval + “Centaur Certified” badge.

3. *Distribute & Monetize* — Built-in marketplace + one-click to DSPs.

4. *Stream & Discover* — Premium in-app player with curated, zero-slop playlists.

*Why this wins:* Producers stay for the tools and community. Fans stay for the quality. You own the full relationship and data.

---

*Slide 6: Core Features*

*MVP Ready in 3–4 Months*

- *Centaur Engine* — Custom AI trained exclusively on licensed, high-quality music (no scraped trash).

- *Professional Studio* — Prompt-to-track, multitrack editing, stem separation, DAW sync (Logic, Ableton, FL Studio).

- *AI Co-Pilot* — Smart suggestions for melody, lyrics, transitions — always editable by humans.

- *Certification Gate* — AI + human scoring on originality, emotion, mix quality.

- *Transparent Labeling* — Exact human vs. AI % shown on every track.

- *Collaboration Network* — Real-time co-creation for verified producers.

- *Built-in Player + Playlists* — Curated “Centaur Certified” only.

- *Behind the Centaur* — Stories showing the creative process.

---

*Slide 7: Business Model*

*Diversified, high-margin, recurring revenue from Day 1*

- *Freemium* — Free tier (limited generations, watermarked).

- *Pro Subscriptions* — $19–$49/month (unlimited tools, priority certification, custom models).

- *Marketplace* — 15–30% commission on beats, stems, full songs.

- *Streaming Revenue* — In-app royalties + partner white-label deals.

- *Enterprise* — Licensing to labels, brands, sync deals.

*Strong retention:* Producers stay for the quality network and tools. Viral creator economy loop.

---

*Slide 8: Go-to-Market & Traction Plan*

*Phased, low-risk launch leveraging your existing brand*

- *Phase 1 (Launch)* — Invite-only beta with Centaur Producers community + fanbase. Seed 500+ certified tracks.

- *Phase 2* — Open to verified producers (application + portfolio review).

- *Marketing* — “The End of AI Slop” campaign (contrast videos vs. Suno/Udio). Heavy presence on X, TikTok, Instagram.

- *Partnerships* — Early distributor and streamer deals for “Certified Human-AI” playlists.

*Competitive Moat:* Proprietary models, unbreakable quality standards, and network effects from the Centaur Producers collective.

---

*Slide 9: Why Now / Market Timing*

*Perfect storm in 2026*

- Massive AI slop fatigue across listeners, artists, and platforms.

- Listeners actively seeking premium, trustworthy hybrid music.

- No existing platform enforces professional standards or rewards real craftsmanship.

- Centaura is positioned as *the premium, defensible alternative* in a sea of cheap generators.

We turn the biggest industry pain point into our biggest advantage.

---

*Slide 10: Competitive Advantage & Vision*

*What sets Centaura apart*

- Unbreakable “No Slop” quality moat.

- Proprietary training data from Centaur Producers.

- Full-stack hybrid experience (creation + streaming).

- Strong authentic brand with built-in community.

*Vision:* Restore trust in music creation. Prove AI can be a powerful creative partner — never a replacement — when guided by real human artistry.

The future of music is hybrid.

*The future of music is Centaura.*

---

*Slide 11: The Ask*

*Let’s build the platform that fixes AI music.*

We are seeking:

- Strategic investment / seed funding

- Partnerships with distributors, streamers, or labels

- Beta collaborators and early adopters

*Next Steps:* Schedule a demo of the Centaur Engine + full financial projections available upon request.

*Thank you.*

Questions? Let’s talk about ending AI slop — together.

---
