I trust my local mayor. I don't fully trust DeSantis or a lot of the current Florida politicians who are pushing for "no property tax". You know what they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I'm all for education, so I don't mind a portion of my property taxes going for that. But I sure would like to know what they're doing with all that money since the schools don't seem to be getting better and they actually closed some in my city..

Friend of mine in another state (Ohio) said they were talking about doing away with property taxes there, but they were going to raise the county tax to compensate for it. Each county will have to get that money from somewhere. Don't kid yourself. I will be voting "no" because "the devil you know is better than the devil you don't." At least I know how much to plan for with my current property taxes. Also, I don't want to lose any community services (they would certainly have to cut something). I do not want any fire departments, police, or any other services to be cut.

If I have to pay school taxes, as a 70 year old retiree, parents of school age children should not be able to use them as a tax exemption. If I'm paying for their kids, let them pay for their kids too.

I'm sure the crooked Henry family of Volusia county is part of the FLC. They are such thieves it makes me sick

Make sure you know the full impact. Right now town officials are scrambling for ways to handle significant loss of revenue which affects road/bridge repair, parks & recreation maintenance, code enforcement and libraries. New taxes are being considered along with increasing rates for water and sewer. Death and taxes! Either way they will find a way to get your money.

You can BET there are so many NGO’s that were set up to steal our money! These audits have to continue and be made public! We want to know what elected officials have been spending money on! THAT should be a requirement before any election where an incumbent is running!

The use of 'taxpayer monies' to create social constructs to undermine our God-given rights and enslave us by robbing our labor via our paychecks to support the fiat money system has been going on since the mid 1800's. This is nothing new. The real problem is FIAT MONEY + IRS MONOPOLY ON LABOR + CORPORATE STRUCTURE OF SOCIETY all PROTECTED BY GOVERNMENT. That's equivalent to ancient Roman latifundia. In a word: SLAVERY ruled by "the idle rich". So until you get rid of those 3 big monsters, nothing will change. And nothing good will come from any of this.

Travis from Real Estate Mindset and Mitch Vexler are suing the state of TX for property tax corruption in the school districts. The school districts here in FL are just as corrupt, FAFO should investigate them. What they are doing is illegal and unconstitutional and they are committing fraud here in FL too but no one is doing anything about it .

The "Detroit Threat Management Center" Is proof positive that police and fire do not need to be funded with taxes. Not only that, but their performance record puts the police to shame for a fraction of the cost allowing them to provide the service to the less fortunate free of cost. People, gov't is, and always has been a con.

DeSantis has done nothing for Florida. Pushed division and hate while doing nothing for high insurance, real estate and numerous other problems. Education is at the bottom because teachers pay ranked 50th. The citizens born and raised in Florida can't afford to live in Florida.

The problem with property taxes is twofold:

1. It's literal feudalism to have to keep paying for something you supposedly "bought" and
2. It' fund the societal scourge of public schooling which is a fraud in two ways:
1. It's literal stated intent was not education, but blind obedience to state proposed "authority" (2x teacher of the year, John Taylor Gatto, has many excellent books tracing the history, intent and effects of public schooling)
2. It has been shown conclusively by Vexler of "Real Estate Mindset" to be a massive Ponzi scheme/fraud operation run by virtually every municipality in the country

In short, you must eliminate BOTH the property tax AND public schooling to remotely being to remedy the problem.

The city and county politicians will come up with new and creative ways to get that tax revenue back. Higher gas tax, higher motel/hotel room tax, higher water bills, higher traffic fines etc...they aren't about to give up that money and be forced to tighten their belts.

I’m very confused. Sorry, I’ve never lived in Florida. In New England, the proper taxes are not itemized. I have family in Florida in Bonita springs and there taxes are itemized. Property taxes schools and other services show us as a line item. So, me being ignorant thought eliminating the property taxes wouldn’t effect services like fireman, police, schools, etc. can someone break down the truth for me.
