Spurs world struggle in the championship half the squad would leave no doubt about it, the away teams would treat that fixture like a cup final, could you play 20 plus cup finals in a season and expect to win more than 50%
Would they lose the NFL deal, hard to sell you should come to this stadium we don't even play in the highest division
Spurs though won't get relegated simply because they can go out and twat 40 mil on Gallagher no other club in their position can do that

I cant believe it took till the ange interview for james to see what spurs fans have been saying for ages about the owners

@danieldhesi7151

We hear alot about manager's, sporting director and boards. Nothing about the medical department at spurs, they have been poor with loads of injerys every year.

@rickard--1

One of the things that shocked me when Leeds went down was how bare-faced the players were about getting away from the club to protect their Premier League wage. They would play for anyone rather than taking the wage drop. Too many of them had no interest in helping Leeds out of the situation they themselves had created

Tottenham really dropped the ball getting rid of Ange he would have taken Tottenham to the top they just had to listen to him he’s a very clever man it’s impossible not to like him feel sorry for Tottenham fans

Bringing Poch back to manage a team that is weaker in literally every way just to completely ruin his reputation for good, including with spurs fans, would be the funniest possible outcome. Man is a charlatan.

46:10 "Deja vu" from Conte. 2 very different managers, both identifying that something is rotten in the kingdom of the Cock.

Spurs, their fans, owners, and former chairman care more about accounting than football. The results show that.

This isn’t the same situation. Spurs were 4th when conte left; they’re currently 16th

I would say that when Newcastle went down in 2016 every game in the championship seemed to be like a cup game for the opposition they all wanted the scalp for beating us. It felt like we had a target on our backs all season. Yes we had the quality and the crowds and it told in the end but a lot of games were a lot feistier than they really should have been because teams always seemed to be up for it against us. Tottenham probably would come straight back up but they would learn a few hard lessons down there, they would undoubtably need to toughen up a bit.

@flibbleking
@

Isak Hayden, isn't he still on Newcastle's books? I wouldn't be surprised they gave him like a 6 year contract and loaned him out for like 5 1/2 of them.

Mixed feelings on Ange, he said a lot of truth but also played to the gallery and was self-serving. The fact that Frank was a failure doesn’t change my mind that it was correct decision to sack Ange.

The discussion of Barry Bannan has prompted me to explore the lore of this beautiful Scottish man. To the point where I find myself watching a video of him titled none other than “The Wednesday Wizard!”. As a fellow spurs fan, I can’t help but wonder if Barry is actually the solution to all of our problems, regardless of the league we play in next season. Would love to hear what Flav thinks, cheers fellas.

As a Newcastle fan, I have no issues with Spurs. I actually quite like the fan base. When they visit st James, they always bring good fans. However, I think everyone wants them to be relegated. Solely just because it would show that nobody are safe if standards drop. I had the same view with Everton when they were close to being relegated

What would love to see would be Marinakis employ either De Zerbi or Conte pure fireworks and have a Amazon series at the club

Pet peeves, I have 2;
•Messy butter any - that is ANY hint of crumbs in butter or unclean/non uniform attempts at taking butter out of the tub send shivers down my spine, I shared a house of 10 at uni for 2 years, we shared groceries mostly but I insisted on having my own butter, I could not bring myself to share with those heathens.
•That glue like substance that holds packets of cards on magazines, same feelings felt as the butter.

(Edit) ive remembered a third, less intense PP, but a PP nonetheless: odd socks. Thank you

West Ham are going to go scrap and fight to stay up, they've got momentum, Leeds and Brighton know what they're doing, they'll survive.

For me it's either Forrest or Spurs to go down and it depends on which one of them hires the best fitting new manager.

If Forrest try and get an Ange type, progressive attacking, possession focused manager, they will go down. If Forrest grabbed Thomas Frank I think they stay up. They have the type of players who will fight and scrap and go grab dirty goals, and they'll grit through and stay up like West Ham are on track to do.

For Spurs, if they go sign another "safety first" manager, they'll go down. They just won't get enough goals or enough points to stay up. If they hire somebody more like a Harry Redknapp, simple, put the players in their best positions, get them training with the ball, focus on enjoying their football again, the quality of that team will show and they'll go pick up some wins.

@SkullSnax

Pet hate, Re-Sign being written as resign, they mean essentially opposite things, and it's written wrong all the time in football

Dont think that Dean Smith to Villa was a bad move at all. Took us up when we looked like we wouldn’t get in the playoffs, got us our highest place finish since Martin O’Neil and got some key players in the squad. Norwich move wasn’t great for him, but he is held in high regard still by us Villa fans.

@CylonModel2
@

'It's giving' can f**K off! - agreed.

@bolzfieldUK1
@

Villa went down and had a load names and bought a load of names. We still got up by the skin of our teeth after 3 years. Championship is no joke when your club is toxic and used to winning every week. Jim has mentioned this 'reset' before and it's thing I wildly disagree on. Spurs would be fine due to their super revenue no doubt but ** me we were nearly liquidated.

@UTV_1982
@

I guess Spurs need to sign some physios

@leaguepredictor

No VAR in the champ? At least Romero would stay on the pitch more

@MartinBerentsen
@

Spurs sacking Ange was a disgrace and also foolish

@Do27gg
@

Any club’s stature can only be measured by it’s ownership… Ange told no lie, Spurs have the components to become a huge club but will never quite make it due to cowardice and lack of vision.

Bit idea: I think I'm Turning JAFFNese
(Where you start to see bits from JAFFN in your day to day life)

I've been getting quite into the Winter Olympics over the last few days and have a particular leaning towards the wonderfully ferocious game of Ice Hockey.

However, my immersion is always disrupted when, at key moments in the matches, one of the teams launches a "Power Play" and all I can think of are the array of suggestions for how to belittle and patronise my enemies that have cropped up on JAFFN over the years... and i wouldn't have it any other way.

@GisGoos12
@

Call me crazy but this Tottenham situation is screaming out for Sam Allardyce on an interim basis. I’d back him to get 3 wins and a draw or two and stay up with that squad.

Did Jim do a pod with Isaac Hayden?? He should’ve mentioned it!

My pet hate is Americanisms.

I have three young nephews who live their life watching YouTube and picking up these annoying little Americanisms. As a good British uncle I make sure I correct them on their bastardisation of our precious language.

When I corrected one of my nephews (13) that the phrase I could care less makes no sense, the correct phrase is I couldn't care less, he argued point blank with me until I got so annoyed that I took the playstation controller off him.

I learned two lessons from this

1. I can be quite petty when it comes to Americanisms

2. 13 year olds are stubborn fuckers, and so am I.

He's still not talking to me and my wife's pretty pissed.
