Jason Blum knows a thing or two about horror. As the super-producer behind Blumhouse Productions, he has helped shepherd franchises like 'Paranormal Activity,' 'The Purge,' and 'Insidious' to the big screen, as well as a number of acclaimed thrillers like 'Get Out,' 'Split,' and more recently, 'Upgrade.' Blum sat down with Rotten Tomatoes to talk about his Five Favorite Classic Horror Films and revealed part of what makes him such a keen judge of quality fright flicks.

"Day of the Dead," "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "Friday the 13th," "Carnival Of Souls," "Speak No Evil" (Original version), "Rec," "The Descent," "Repulsion," "Black Christmas" (Original Bob Clark Version), "Let's Scare Jessica to Death," "Deranged," "Carrie" (DePalma), "Halloween" (Carpenter), "The Ring" (Original Hideo Nakata Version), "Funny Games" (Original or Remake - same Director), "Dark Water," (Original Nakata Version), "It's Alive" (Larry Cohen Version), "I Saw the Devil," "The Maze," "The Car," and I could go on and on. Notice that "Blair Witch Project" and "The Shining" (Kubrick) are not on my list, because they are overrated, and not even remotely close to being scary. Just my opinion!

I respect his choice but get out was fucking boring as fuck. I think get out is the dumbest movie ever made someone that makes you fall sleep and go into this mental warp thing nahhhh

Good choices but I wouldn't consider "Rebecca" a horror movie or the great Alfred Hitchcock a "horror director", he was the master of suspense, not horror.
