Final Day Relegation Battle - 2010/2011
Video Overview & Insights
22 May 2011
15 years after this battle:
Blackpool and Wigan are in the middle of EFL League One
Blackburn Rovers are barely survivng in the EFL Championship
Birmingham City are midtable in the EFL Championship
Wolves and West Ham (already relegated in this video) are relegated from the Premier League.
On the last day of the 2010–11 season, five teams — Wolves, Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City, Blackpool and Wigan — battled to avoid the two open relegation spots (West Ham were already relegated). All five teams were separated by one point.
8:51 that would be offside nowadays with VAR - player blocking the keepers line of sight in an offside position
More User Perspectives
West Ham could be relegated shortly
@aldorfc220Great Video
@rasandford5227😂 celebrations for surviving relegation
@ya_boy_kat6:26 god how different football is with VAR thats a mile offside
@IlovemywifeshessogreatIt's now 2026 and all the teams other than Manchester United that appeared in this video have been relegated or are battling relegation.
@cyanronsato6:20 the happiest moment😂
@limcxfelix3543the moment I heard Blackpool , Ronaldo and M. Salah faceoff meme came to my mind
@Vaibhav-m6dnow all 6 of them could be out of the prem,Wolves are basically confirmed,whilst Spurs can comeback and relegate West Ham
@rvawnDam those vids worth watching
@flawlessvictory660As of Today, None of the Blackpool Birmingham Wigan and Blackburn have returned to PL. Wolves have just been relegated and West Ham are battling out TOTTENHAN HOTSPUR for the Relegation. Times change
@jayeshpranavdrake43790:31 Surreal to hear that in 2026. Playing for 5th place? Now, they are battling to avoid relegation.
@PoipoleMujigaeBlackpool that season played best championship entry football in 25 years I watched Premier League
@Andrija-e9lAs an outsider to this, it does thrill me to hear the voice of Robot Wars in the Wolves/Blackburn game in this video.
@Ultimate23Dragon"and Birmingham City are headed to the Championship". would be a great sentence for them in any other sport.
@RollOnToVictoryI miss this premier league
@godienziega957In Hu-God we trust!
@FabianGracia14All those 5 bottom teams (except West Ham)’s opponent in this video now:
Man Utd (3rd in Premier League)
Stoke (15th in Championship - relegated from Premier League since 2018)
Tottenham Hotspur (17th in Premier League) (just lost to NFO hours ago)
Do find it funny when people say the league is more competitive now than it ever has been and in the past it was all about the top and the rest were cannon fodder.... the 3 teams going down in the last few seasons have finished on less than 30 points whereas back then teams were going down on 39!
@adamroberts5471Celebrations for staying put are much meaningful than winning the title
@albertallen2361Show this to the American footballing fan (MLS has no relegation btw) and tell them this is real football
@toespicSpurs 😂😂😂🎉
@longchunpang8011West Ham going down again
@zainzia5708Has anyone else noticed the theme of the letters B and W?
@captainginge11and now wolves are prolly getting relegated this year
@superheroesareloveWas better like this
@IntrospectiveReasoningspurs 25/26 be like:

@holesom522Still probably the best episode 😂😂
@joshpenaluna9437Funny how Tottenham is in a relegation battle now 😭😭, the joke really are always on them
@nateskiiiand now the league is intoxicated by dirty corner 'tactics' fouling the keeper. Thank you Arsenal, you've ruined the best league and the beautiful game 👎
@Noneedphoneon9kaneEntão epsten tem várias indentidades 😂😂😂
@a28skTottenham in 5 weeks😂
@JasonBourne4-k8yThese days you wouldn't get relegated with 39 points, you always get at least 2 garbage tier teams
@bluebaby30Aston Villa 2 Leeds 1
Chelsea 3 Burnley 0
Crystal Palace 1 Wolves 3
Forest 0 Liverpool 4
Brentford 1 Brighton 0
West Ham 0 Bournemouth 0
Man City 3 Newcastle 2
Sunderland 3 Fulham 2
Tottenham 0 Arsenal 0
Everton 2 Man United 2
Premier league was best pre Pep era. It was ok in the Pep era and is now shit since Arteta's arrival.
@ComingforfootballfansWont see anything lime this again all so predictable with all the money flying around
@lewis8634They don't make final days like this anymore. This was a brilliant afternoon of football for a neutral. So many twists and turns.
@samjames5552On the other side of the coin, I remember being at Gillingham vs Bolton on the last day of the 1986-87 season. We needed to win, and needed Bristol City and Notts County not to win, so we could get into the play-offs. I've never seen so many people with radios stuck to their ears! As it turned out, things worked out perfectly and it was mayhem at the end! (I still have some Gillingham pitch turf on the edge of our lawn!)
@glenjarnoldI watch this over and over again. I will never forget this as a Wolves fan
@dokkers-knocrazy gameweek!
@RaPmanTimThey don't make them like this no more
@PolishCommunist794Not a mobile phone in sight
