Fall Asleep Fast To A Rainy Noir Detective Story in 1930's New York
Video Overview & Insights
Tonight’s story comes from a rain-soaked corner of 1930s New York.
There are no stories. Just unusual sounds
When Ruth Callahan walks into Mr. Morrow’s office, she asks a simple question: was her brother’s death truly a robbery, or something quieter and more deliberate? The search for an answer leads through police reports that close too quickly, a law firm that handles money no one looks at too closely, and a speakeasy called The Velvet Room where the bourbon flows and the wrong people sit in the shadows.
This is a slow, reflective noir tale about power, influence, and the shape of truth when it cannot be fully proven. There are no car chases and no dramatic shootouts — only rain, cigarette smoke, jazz, and the quiet understanding that some cases reveal more than they resolve.
That's my style!
Told softly and at an unhurried pace, this detective story is designed for late-night listening and drifting into sleep.

@I_am_SerjohnWhat is that jazz music with the piano and horn?
It’s so perfect for this atmosphere.
I can’t believe they did this! I love your stories and I’ve been using them to fall asleep for almost a year now. Glad you’re not leaving YouTube and excited to see what you put out next
@summer2011leggoOh wow. I need to say this, please don't hate me for being unfaithful, but I've been looking at other channels 👀
I have wide and varied interests, so lately, I've (tried) to listen to some sleepy cosmology, some sleepy ancient Egypt and some tales of the Morrigan (OBSESSED with that last one, would DIE and go to heaven if you did one on her 😭🙏)
Anyway I realised super fast that every single one I clicked on was the same voice.
Don't know if AI or not but it was just weird and wrong. No music, no ambience, nothing in the background at all, voice spoke way too fast, and screeching ads every 5 minutes.
I suddenly knew what a FOOL I'd been, and that I should never have strayed and NEVER WILL AGAIN I PROMISE 😭❤️
Thank you so much you absolute heros. For going to the effort to create 100% TOP NOTCH 10/10 NO NOTES PERFECT sleepy experiences, time after time.
After my trip into the wilderness, it was SOOOO SOOTHING to come back here and feel completely spoilt with gorgeous ambience, brilliantly told stories at a relaxed pace, with the hours of soft sounds afterwards, putting me back to sleep straight away if I wake.
You guys are a CLASS ACT. And I feel so so lucky to have you.
I can't support financially although I desperately wish I could. In lieu of that I've been sending links to all my friends on socials in private messages where I sing your praises 😊 I hope it's helping in some tiny way with new subscribers 🙏
Be well. Thank you eternally.
And if one day you did feel like doing a piece on the Morrigan, it would make my year🥰
😊🥰
Excellent piece. As usual. Pat Novak For Hire would understand. Thanks.

@julioprado5020I'm also toying with a detective story set in resident evil during the first 3 games, so it was definitely insightful to see how your story was made, heavy on the atmosphere and no real winner.
