The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor is a fifth-generation, single-seat, twin-engine, all-weather stealth tactical fighter aircraft developed for the United States Air Force (USAF). The result of the USAF's Advanced Tactical Fighter program, the aircraft was designed primarily as an air superiority fighter, but also has ground attack, electronic warfare, and signal intelligence capabilities. The prime contractor, Lockheed Martin, built most of the F-22's airframe and weapons systems and did its final assembly, while Boeing provided the wings, aft fuselage, avionics integration, and training systems.

The aircraft was variously designated F-22 and F/A-22 before it formally entered service in December 2005 as the F-22A. After a protracted development and despite operational issues, the USAF considers the F-22 critical to its tactical air power, and says that the aircraft is unmatched by any known or projected fighter. The Raptor's combination of stealth, aerodynamic performance, and situational awareness gives the aircraft unprecedented air combat capabilities.

@aht786I have always loved fighter jets but the F-22 Raptor is hands down my obsession. I was completely speechless at the maneuver starting at 4:15. It almost looks like a stall out! What an incredible machine.😮

@dafyduck-u5ufor space flight, plane would need air for fuel and gas for turning nose of plane in space a containers for air and gass would be needed , brobably plane shouldbe biger a bit and look like f 22 in shape
@dafyduck-u5uhey by making compressor blades on end of turbine in jet engine to push air with power like engine piston into fuel burning chamber it would make better push power and no pressure would push inside turbine from fuel explosion and it could go to space in it would have air intake from container on plane. i could probably make such jet fighters , but no one asks me for this projects, they are nuts and think i dont know to do this stuuf or that i imagine that i would know how to do it, i was goimg top school to fly this planes but our country dont have this and my family dont have cash to send me abroad to fly this so i lost interest in school at that time , i can fly this anytime... mabye they even destroyed my life to have no such job or educatiuon and now dont let me have kids so they could get realestates from my grandad, he had lots of land

@T_ATTHAPONTo me that would be a huge honor to fly the F22. For what it's designed for it is clearly the best ever made to date. I'm sure we have much better tucked away getting the kinks out. But right now, today, it's the best on earth.
