Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
Fun to drive, cheap and easy to operate, AND top safety pick from Euro NCAP? Nice trifecta there Tesla!
▶ a frontal impact test where 50% of the width of the car strikes an oncoming deformable barrier, travelling at 50 km/h
▶ a frontal impact test where the car impacts a full-width rigid barrier

▶ a pole test where the car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole

A series of pedestrian tests is also conducted with different impactors: adult and child head forms and lower and upper leg forms. As well as the AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests. In 2023, a test scenario for Cyclist Dooring Prevention was introduced.
Active safety is rated based on the performance of the car’s equipment, including autonomous emergency braking in car-to-car and car-to-motorcycle scenarios, occupant status monitoring (which encompasses seatbelt reminders, fatigue detection, distraction detection, and impairment detection), lane support, and speed assistance technologies.

@rangavenkat4743Tesla will only got better and better. You can tell the safety assist score is 5% higher than model 3 highland, but there’re no hardware differences between this two cars in-term of the cameras, so this 5% is coming from a software update. Again, only Tesla can do!

@Sandwich420아무리 안전 성이 높아도 시속100 이상에선 치명적, 하지만 고속도로 에서 대부분 100이상으로 달리지, 결국 아무리 안전하다고해도 순간방심은 항상 큰 사고로 이어질 수 있음, 모든 테스트 는 시속100이하에서만 함, 왜? 시속100이상에서는 끔찍한 결과와 함께 차에서 전혀 안전하지 않다는걸 알수밖에 없기에 오히려 안전테스트를 하는게 공포를 주고 차량구매를 꺼리게함😊

@ny1fantaOne thing NCAP doesn't test is the insane amount of phantom braking "Vision" has brought. This learns you to floor the gas by muscle memory when the car suddenly for the 2. or 3. time in 100 Km slow down or brakes for absolutely nothing but perhaps shadows on the road which the computer believes is some kind of object. Hard to test in laboratories but an overseen scenario with all these systems in modern car where most got some kind of flaw or gives out false alarms that much you end up disregard/overruling the cr**.
