FILM DESCRIPTION:

Elvis was the final boss challenger to American puritanism and repression

— @digital_ephemera

The film explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Austin Butler), seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks). The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley's rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to that journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis's life, Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).

Imagine being the next act after the future King just did that 😂

If Brendan Fraser hadn’t done The Whale that same year, Austin Butler would have gotten that Oscar. He not only nailed Elvis’s mannerisms and movements but he also did his own singing. I’m glad he at least won the Golden Globe because he at least deserved one award for this performance.

I assume that 50s girls where so unbelievably repressed that as soon as someone cut the mold and performed in an even remotely sexual way, the girls couldn't handle it.

This particular scene alone is worthy an oscar! Catches the legend around Elvis with that hard soundtrack hits while he shakes his soul out of his body 👍

@AndiZemp

Did they address in the movie how he stole music from black artists??

Man was literally a peacock in a land of penguins. Nobody at the time ever would've expected a white guy to wear a pink suit and buck his legs like that in public, let alone on a stage.

But that raw flair and charisma is what made him completely irresistible to women. They weren't supposed to like that, but that's that forbidden nature is exactly why they liked it.

@danksmeme698
@

I know Elvis had a lot of problems, but you gotta give respect to the legends who made modern music possible. Elvis shimmied so modern concerts could exist.

@halfasleepvampire7545

Very poor casting. Looks nothing like Elvis.

@theharpsichordofmozart4258

“Hurt him? It looks like they wanna…” cuts back to the stage 😂

Nienaturalna scena, a co za tym idzie słaby występ i nie ma nic wspólnego z prawdziwym Elvisem. Inna barwa głosu. Znacznie lepiej by było, gdyba zaprezentował własny repertuar.

the biggest farce in history, you will never be the king of rock.

Fun fact, that was actually Austin singing, he’ll mostly did all the vocals for young Elvis
