@IntegrationistI grew up in an area with a large Mennonite population. I actually went to school with a lot of more progressive mennonites. They were lovely, peaceful, good people. I’m sure more conservative communities could be different, but I don’t think there’s anything inherently cultish about the mennonites, and I think that perception is just due to how they look different because of the way they dress. Sasha seems like she was a wonderful, intelligent person. Rest in peace.
@judetheobscure4983I like how this video shows trial footage that explains the Mennonite philosophy of peace. I grew up Mormon, and as a child I hated how the Book of Mormon immediately begins with god telling Nephi (pronounced NEE fie) to kill his uncle. I am no longer a believer, but I still suffer from flashbacks of religious trauma.

I dont understand why anyone would live that way. But. More power to them if that is how they believe and wish to live and I will defend their right to do so. It makes me ill when people tell others their beliefs or ways of living are wrong. I dont care what they are, religious or not, people need to live their own lives as they choose and stay out of other peoples business. Even if you disagree with the way they live. Period. And for this man to attack and kill a woman because of her faith, that is a hate crime.
