Driver chases cyclist on NYC bike lane in an act of road rage

So a few things:

The guy has gotten $1,200 in violations from 3/2025 to now and still owes $225. This is NYC. Who knows what he has in NJ.

I love how the cops now will investigate because the local news blew their spot up and made them look like a punk.

Completely bias on my part but it’s always the croc wearing dudes that want to start stuff. Hoodie up and raggedy sweatpants in the summer, with crocs. Delicious combination.

That area has gotten bad with traffic and pedestrians since I worked there in 2010-2013. A lot of near misses.

Seems like this type of thing is on the rise. I see a lot of people posting nasty comments about cyclists on reddit and YouTube so not surprised. There are a lot of mentally ill people in society that will justify murdering someone because they are annoyed . I see the same in comments when someone shoots/kills a neighbor over loud noise. A lot of people in the comments siding with the killers. So it's funny when society tries to talk about crime statistics and shame certain demographics for crime when they themselves are quick to justify murder and likely would do worse than rhise they condem when raised in similar environments and circumstances.

End all inner city bike lanes, streets are too narrow. Streets are paid for by vehicles, not bicyclists.

NYPD is so unhelpful to New York residents. They just want to do the bare minimum, avoid having to write up police reports, and just collect their pay, OT and eventually pension. I grew up in a NYPD police family and after living in Manhattan for over 20 years, my opinion of them has completely changed. They're rotten to the core, along with the DA.

The fact that NYPD did not want to even take a report and only bowed to public pressure shows you. The nypd doesn't care. Things don't have to take place right in front of them for them to be able to open a file on it. That's the excuse they use. Then let's start cutting back their funding. We don't need to be paying for people who say if we don't see it we ain't doing nothing about it

That bike was probably worth more than that guy car so there has to be some kind of charges for that… let alone a safety issue for thousands of a cyclists
