Don't choose the wrong tech career in 2026

Video Overview & Insights

Don't choose the wrong tech career in 2026.

Choosing tech job in 2026 is a risky decision.

— @Hypocritecivilization

These are the tech careers I think are worth pursuing in 2026, and how they might suit. Just my opinion. It's around 10 (the video was getting too long, so added roles like Data Engineers as honorable mentions)

Business inquiries:

I things sales, consultancy all are suits for me but Comapnies wants an experience .

Anyone help?

MY LINKS

It would help to start the video saying where you are getting this data geographically. Because your accent tells me you might be posting this video based on UK metrics, this opinion coming from a dumb minimum wage American.

I want someone’s advice in here. I want to major computer science and become a backend engineer. However, with the looks of AI and what’s happening I’m thinking about switching into aerospace engineering because of how it’s less at risk. Any suggestions?

Thank you for this research & it's really helpful for tech in 2026 but it would have been awesome if you could have talked more about semiconductor industry like FPGA/DSP/Design/Physical Design engineer's positions in your next upcoming video please... It's been 5 months now sadly I can see semiconductor industry slowly lossing man power & completely using LLM to get their chip design done in front-end...Also as DV engineer myself is in verge of layoff because of this

Love the call out about focusing on the industry rather than the job role. In my opinion, most people are so focused in the role that they would take a job in any industry. Becoming a technical expert in a specific industry is also key to increasing your income.

Jobbyo honestly seems way easier than spending hours applying manually. The auto-apply feature looks really useful for finding better jobs.

Hey, would it be reasonable as a new graduate to go for a Tech Analyst Consultant at Deloitte as a stepping stone for product companies? Or is it better to try and get an offer in a product company?

Hi, im currently on a job hunt and i thing my biggest challenge is improving my English cause its my weakness.
my Current job is Sales Tech and also Computer Technician on both for customer and company.
My task are assisting potential customer and also a customer having problem in their products.
my other task are also assembling newly purchase system unit, installing CCTV, and accepting warranties 1st level to check purchased unit and i can also take and open like laptop even removing warranty seal on specific brand cause im trained engineer to do deeper test on specific brand.
Im also maintaining current branch peripherals like store CCTV, Printer, POS, Cashier system unit and more.

So right now for 7-8 years the salary i earn are not increasing but the task are increasing like i also do Cashier job. some computing taxes receipt which makes me dizzy so im planning to shift career.
i dont have strong knowledge on coding but very basic or super beginner on HTML only.

im looking for new tech job that are fast and easy to learn that i can use soon to shift career

Don’t follow the YouTubers and actually get a bachelors and masters in ee so you have job security and very high pay (pay seem to be rising a ton because of ai)

Hey, what about Data Engineering? 😅
I am currently in a data engineering / software engineering hybrid role.
I'm technically in a data engineering role but I also do a lot of development on apps and in the framework that is used by the entire team.

I won't lie. All this AI hype is very draining, but at the same time it must eventually stabilize and the AI bubble burst.
With this, I don't mean AI will be gone and everything will go back to its previous state. I think AI is here to stay. But I think there will eventually be an equilibrium between the use of AI and the rest of the world (yes, the world, not just tech jobs).

Either way, data engineering for me has been pretty safe for me, at least. I'm not in the USA, though.

At this point, most of my positions are Business and Data Analyst, basically how to use the data to make business decisions easier and more profitable.

I'm leaning towards becoming an ML engineer, I'm quite good at maths but I'm also good at explaining things once I know them. One issue I have is I live in a small European country so the market is not really evolved the way people tell me on Youtube. Going fully remote would change that, something to work on.
