This was a good video and pretty spot on. Iβve seen some unrealistic videos lately and glad to see the ones that arenβt spreading fluff

I just received my Bachelor's Degree in IT with a concentration in Cybersecurity . I am currently working on my Security+ certification from CompTIA. I pray to have that completed by May 1st. I want to start off as a CyberSecurity Analyst, then after some time, go into PenTesting. Then, after that, I would like to finish off in Academia and consulting work on the side. The only thing is, I am an ex-felon who committed a violent crime when I was young, it was robbery, to be exact. Is there any advice you can give me? I am also currently working on my Master's in the same thing.

Just subscribed! Thank you for the glimpse in your day to day experiences, this was the motivation I never knew I needed to hear. Currently enrolled in cyber security degree plan on my 2nd year. Itβs been discouraging at times but I tell myself itβll all be worth it and whatever I may not understand now, I will. I look forward to learning more from your other videos, much obliged my friend π

Hi, just getting into Cyber Security and I feel a little out of my depth in the specific certificate program Iβm working with. If there are any tips, programs, articles that could possibly help to put a visual to all of the reading Iβve been doingπ .

Cyber Tom .... thank you so much for this video!!! well Iβm 48 and Iβm thinking about changing my career... I know how to search on a computer and send emails, but I donβt know how to split screen and do other stuff of that nature like pull up pdfβs... I start a basic computer class in 3 days!! Iβm super excited!! my question is after I get through the basic computer class UNLV offers an online cyber security program... Iβm really worried about learning online though... do you think Iβll be OK or do you think I should try to do in class with instructor lead classes??
I know everyoneβs different, but Iβm worried about learning online

Thank you Boss π
@steavens1761That my biggest hurdle, being an introvert itβs really hard for me to work with a team.
@MyICFoundationYou look like Dylan from Severance, minus the scalp hair.
@scaramouche808I had a question. I am studying Computer Systems Technology which is basically IT at a college and am possibly looking down the road as cybersecurity as my future career. My question is when you say that you work along side vendors and completing tickets at 3:22 are they involved in cybersecurity or is it basic IT work. Thank you so much.
@yello4538Thanks for the video! I start my Comp TIA+ class in a few weeks. I'm middle aged and coming from outside the industry. Are there good resources you can recommend to be job ready once I get my certificate?
@psiben99hey bro i have the Network+ course and the security + course im a beginner which one should i do? do i need multiple certs to get a job ?
@kymoni6827Great video
@harddeal6097What does your work schedule look like as a cybersecurity analyst?
@karlavaldez1815Iβm starting a cybersecurity class next month. I cannot wait. Doing this definitely for a better life income wise for my family. Working 2 jobs at 100 hours a week for a year has taken a toll on me.
@jasonperez6131Thank you so much it such an insightful videoβ¦ how ever if you donβt mind, would you recommend going through IT support to cyber security as a new beginner or just cyber security direct. Thank you
@walliyullahHey @cybertom I wanted to get into cyber security right now I am running a successful business that isnβt at all cyber related Iβm wondering if you have any recommendations for me?
@karstenschwerinski9847looking for a career change and Cyber Security has peeked my interest!! Thank you for sharing!!
@archive13coSir is it what you will learn and after learning u will get employees please I need ur answer
@NwabuezeMercy-i9mI'm 25 years doctor, and i just want to step in cyber security with no background knowledge of IT i get interested with it. I will make it??
@Enjoylife-2829quick question I will be going into my senior high of school this fall im very interested in cyber security how should I prepare to take cyber security in college?
@SmoothSeanThank you
@derrickschiano9476Currently in school for cybersecurity. Iβm really bad at programming, and thatβs not something I wanna do when I graduate and start a job. Does a cybersecurity analyst do a lot of coding?
@im-twizzyThanks for the real explanation. I'm definitely realizing it's not what I expected. Every role looks extremely boring and passive, just waiting on something to pop up on splunk, checking emails, or having another meeting. Maybe I'm looking too much into that.
@statickilla89Itβs easy
@whyworkwhenicanrap6830Im paranoid im about to complete my cyber security certificate thru Cousera im more of a hands on person and there was very lil hands on im worried that im gonna forget stuff and look like an idea. I been trying to find training or practice websites , i dont know what to do
@PayittforwardThank for the video boss. I do IT EMR consultancy so I am in the field. Quick question, my current gig requires me to travel a lot, for weeks at a time. Is it possible to have a part time gig doing Security analyst or does it require a full time opportunity? Also, are there any other type of roles within the cybersecurity field that I can find an entry level part time gig. If possible.
@Tunde718So will AI wipe out cyber security jobs or does AI needs cyber security too? What are you guys take on this subject? π€
@kingmewsa4916I need a new career...
@javiermontes905Mmmm, not the video I was expecting.
Where is the getting out of bed frame shot, followed by the shower while the coffee is brewing.
Then sipping the coffe like royalty while answering emails. Heading to the gym for exercise and making a protein shake afterwards
Petting the dog and cat after that. Making the bed. Then do 1 hour of work.
Sounds like you are doing a lot of help desk type work. Your jobs seems to incorporate like 4 other disciplines. Configuring firewalls should primarily be a one time set it and don't touch it unless you absolutely have to. If you are working in an environment where you are making frequent changes to a firewall that should be done by a Network administrator.
@johnwayne2103Sound boring AF
@fg1110do you need any type of degree to get into a cyber security job? I've been interested in cyber security and been looking at getting certificates and try applying for entry level jobs
@team_sleepYou need chapstick, bro?
@jeffreyjones7038Great content, what entry level role would you recommend if I get my A+ and network certifications?
@kingquez84Awesome insights
@billionairebaby765Hey Tom. I am 40 and starting my network amd cloud security course soon. Think this old dog can learn new tricks?
@jsaving773Is it best to get a college degree in Cybersecurity? Believe itβd be more beneficial in the long one but iβd like to hear your opinion ! Appreciate your time boss.
