Daddy's Here (Final Scene) | Raising Cain

Video Overview & Insights

Amy is confronted by Carter dressed as Margo (John Lithgow) in the woods in this final cliffhanger from Raising Cain!

In my opinion...the ending scene is Amy imagining that her father/margo is standing behind her mother...perhaps she's actually calling Margon mommy...and Carter/Jon Lithgow isn't even actually there...maybe he'd been conditioning her since she was a baby...

From Brian De Palma's Raising Cain (1992): The wife of a child psychologist is concerned with her husband studying their daughter as a subject. Soon, children in their neighbourhood start disappearing.

Whether you’re looking for a quick jump scare, for a collection of the most gruesome murders or just a re-watch of the most iconic scenes from the history of horror, Fear will be your final (channel) destination.

Direct visual steal from the ending of Tenebrae (1982), but it works perfectly in both films. 😎

I saw this movie in the theatre a million years ago and I loved it. That ending was brilliant.

Okay…So I’m not the only one who got absolutely terrified by the end scare. It’s kinda scary how his daughter could see him but his ex-wife couldn’t.

So is this meant to imply that Margo has completely taken over Carter's body and mind and plans to kill her next...?

Severely underrated, John Lithgow was perfect in this, like music, and some scenes with impressive camera's movements.
I haven't seen all De Palma's movies yet but there's always something good in them.

This movie so deserved a sequel I always hoped there would be one especially leaving a cliffhanger at the end of the movie.
