In my opinion...the ending scene is Amy imagining that her father/margo is standing behind her mother...perhaps she's actually calling Margon mommy...and Carter/Jon Lithgow isn't even actually there...maybe he'd been conditioning her since she was a baby...

I haven't seen all De Palma's movies yet but there's always something good in them.
DePalma is awesome, as is Lithgow.
