Could Classic Plus Be Bigger Than Retail?

I don’t think you’re coping with this take much at all honestly. Look at things like OSRS that have what I believe to be two or three times the player base of the modern version of RuneScape. Granted they are different games with different experiences, but I believe the classic MMO formula wins out for a lot of people that you are currently talking about. Those old players do not want to play new retail MMO‘s but maybe they want to play the old ones

WoW has 9 million monthly active players. All the Classic versions combined are maybe 500K. Classic+ would definitely increase that number heavily

The only reason I haven't bought subs in 20 years is that the version keeps changing and I don't like vanilla classic. If there's another version of the game that doesn't change I'd play it

The truth is there are so many people that like having specs that do almost the same damage at the cost of tool identity. People like running dungeons as a main form of content. People like having hard progression raids. Theres too many things for people to like that classic just doesnt do. Completely different games. A lot of retail players fundamentally do not enjoy the way classic gameplay and class design function and I cant see a shift from retail to classic for this reason in the majority of players.

he don't understand most classic players are adult , have a job , children and family they even only have 1-2 hours for gaming a day , even some of them only have in weekend
he think all classic players is just like him can play game 8 hours a day even as adult
also he not realize some of new players are at different generation
nowadays the market demand eveything fast , they have no time to play slow game , action game rpg beat jrpg turn based

Retail is modern wow , they fit with current market , everything fast , fast animation , big numbers damage , killing bunch of mobs with one blow
