In this episode:

Hey mel. PLEASE BRING HIM BACK ON 🙏 but this time have him teach us how to respond to our stupid teenagers when they disrespect us and hurt our feelings 😢 like how do we reply back without crying 😢 how do we not lose in a conversation. How do we respond when they cause us of being narcissistic only because they know it hurts and know we are everything but narcissistic 🙏🤕 please get him back on

— @hindalfalahi3559

0:30 Introduction

0:48 Do this instead of blaming your bad behavior on your stress.

The episode is very superficial, and honestly his responses are all shallow and not practical. It feels like he just says random nonsense with confidence, and she keeps going along with it a lot.

— @user-dp4dt4tj6u

2:45 What you say to others matters in a way you never thought of.

5:14 Ask yourself these questions to figure out what’s important to you.

Second time watching this - watch it over and over! I wish I had the money to go to a week (or more) of training to turn my life around. Then, I wouldn't be needing help over and over again, and applying for SSDI. :(

I’m not a big fan of Mel (I disagree with her “let them” philosophy), but it’s always good to hear Jefferson Fisher 🤩

I ran into an acquaintance at a casual restaurant once who said, "I don't like you and I think you're a fake." I knew this guy but not well. He seemed somewhat emboldened by alcohol. I was actually taken aback at his comment. My almost immediate response was, "You know that's interesting. I didn't know that you thought that. It's not a thought that I've ever had about you because, though we weren't best friends, I've always thought well of you. So, your comment comes as a surprise to me." He said, "I thought you knew. What do you think about me now?" I said, "It would be hard for me to make any kind of judgment about you right now, because, once again, I've always liked you and thought you were a pretty cool guy (which was the truth)." He walked away. The next time I saw him, he told me that he was just kidding with me (he wasn't; I'm 99% sure of that). Nonetheless, he's not the first person who didn't like me. I'm cool with that. What I wasn't going to do was allow him to determine whether I liked or didn't like him. It was my choice. Whatever he thought/felt was on him. Not me.
-----------------
I was a minister in a local church for 15 years. We sometimes had people who got upset with the church (or me) and decided that they were going to leave. Rather than just do it, they always felt that they needed a 'meeting' with me to give me their list of grievances. I would always (without fail) encourage them to follow their spiritual guidance. I would directly tell them, "I know that you are spiritually guided in your life and that you're only following what you're feeling led to do. I support that and admire you for coming and telling me." Or, if they had a physical list of grievances, I would take the list and say, "There isn't time nor any need to talk about these things now, seeing that you've already made your decision. However, I will read and prayerfully consider everything that you've taken the time to list here. Thank you."

I can't even tell you what a blessing. This video was! Literally minutes before I watched this video. I was praying to God for a way to be able to talk to my husband. We communicate very poorly. And there was a topic that I really needed to discuss with him. Those kinds of things never go well! As soon as I was done. Praying your video popped up. It was a godsend. I listen to the video and I immediately took what I learned and went in and talked with my husband. It went extremely well. He responded. We didn't argue and we had a wonderful day after the conversation. Thank you so much! I will probably go back and listen to this video many times so that I don't forget any of it.

"Be the light..." Fantastic! "If there is room for kindness...use it"... Love it! 👌

@davidsheppard4884
@

Isn’t it a manipulation? To tell someone how you wanna feel after the conversation. Why is the other person responsible for your feelings?

@АлияУварова-ч4м
@

I love hearing discussions on better ways to communicate. I will say that there's 2 big misunderstandings about introverts is that we all are shy and we all keep our mouths shut. That's so far from the truth. Introverts can be outspoken and bold but just enjoy their own company and refuel off of being alone.💗

@littlelights-i5f

Good Conversations Guys. thank younfor your time sir ma'am!!!

@jmartinianovlogging1482

Why are you calling it communication skills? That’s a pure manipulation that you practice and teach about.
