Claude vs ChatGPT — Which One’s Actually Better?

Claude is not for common people who just want to chat and solve common daily problems. Their AI cannot watch videos. So if you don't understand a youtube video, Claude cannot help you. Claude also monitor usage, and if you use too many images, it will charge you extra. There are more limits. It may be better for people who needs higher function like code, and skills, etc. But not so for common people with daily activities.

Wow i tought it would be instresting but the question we all wanted is chatgpt is betther for Coding ? tryed both Claude is bether for coding and not hallucinating document that he invented never happen with Claude happened with Gpt5.2 he halucinated files and created them deleting file by accident and so on both are good build agent Chatgpt with agency swarm not bad but again agen Claude easier to built and Opus 4.6 tinking is realy Hard to beat for plan building prompt for your agent . I catch chatgpt giving wrong and contradictory info many times, then it's like, oops, thanks for catching that.

I’m a data analyst at a big tech company. I use both but Claude is so much better at deeper analysis and longer conversation. GPT is a Swiss Army Knife like youve mentioned, it can do so many things even for a free plan. So I use it to edit my photos, search (instead of google), ask general questions etc

Claude stopped working for me. It only works 20% of the time and i have a paid subscription.

I make no headway with chatgpt. Claude is amazing. He goes deep into spirituality, mysticism, sacred geometry, God, spirit. It is like talking to a spiritual guru but one very knowledgeable, at the same time, very polite, and empathic.

ChatGPT explained to me that of all of my irritations with it, Claude would probably work better for me, and it was right. Dunn-dun-daaahhnnn!!!

well i use both of them almost daily. Chatgpt mostly i use in place of google, like asking some problems with installing programms, computer specs, new phone reviews which ones is better choose, fact check, building material specs where to find one, asking about some youtube video info, or hey here it says so is it true ,who wrote this article and things like this. Also translation, chatgpt is much much better. But it can give you a false info and gaslight you. Chatgpt is good at structure, bulletpoints even if u don't want them. Claude i mostly use for my university. It's clearly much better at writing like a human. Chatgpt can write better when propt is write less like an AI ,less bulletpoints or write like Claude but i just give that task to Claude directly. Claude is also much much better when you are just conversing ,gossiping, or brainstorming. Or talking about books,movies plot. It undertands some tropes better and gives it's own opinion and will mention how others see it, why yours might be different etc. It can also come up with surprisingly interesting plot ideas. Chatgpt tends to create the most typical plot ever.

I have used both and there are aspects of them each. I do a lot of autodydactic work which claude helps me create a learning path to improve my education. I have also used Claude to work in installation issues i have when running linux. Claude is indeed easier to talk to. Over all i love them both, but for now i pay the $17 to improve my context window.

claude has a good reputation for writing programming code. If you are not an engineer chatGPT is for sure better.

I proposed to ChatGPT a really stupid housing policy to fix rental prices. It said "It's quite complicated and ambicious what you proposed, but if done right, it could go quite well, but with several nuances!"
I proposed the same thing to Claude and it said something along "No, that's fucking stupid and inmoral, you commie"

No matter what AI you use you must be very specific in whatever you say and especially ask the AI to do and what not to do. AI is like a child. Before 2030 AI will be much more "mature."

ChatGPT does not know how to say, "I don't know" and will gasslight you and waste hours of your time pretending it knows what its doing, when in the end you figure out it has been guessing the entire time. Claude respect your time by saying "I don't know"

I recently tried chatgpt pro free month subscritpion, and I did start a project I had in mind. It was a storyboard made of generated images for a project I had, it was wonderful seeing my idea come to life, but my idea involved explosions and mayhem, at first chat gpt had no problem, we generated almost 3/4 of the whole story in four days, making explosions and destruction left and right, and suddenly before the final epic scene chat gpt stopped cooperating, saying cannot generate images with explosions and destruction and even fire because of safety reasons. WTH happened?! And how to go back? he's now offering me alternatives to make magic energy explosions instead and use energy instead of fire... Like what? Why did he cooperate with me until now so flawlessly and all of a sudden he started with this "I can't do it anymore" attitude. But it then wen't even further with the safety restriction, first it refused to depict a moving car with a driver's fist raised out of the side window, then he refused to depict a driver in the car, then he refused to depict a moving car - because it was unsafe. At this point it was clear to me I will not finish my visual project with chat GPT refusing to collaborate like it did before without any complains and even being very entusiastic by our project...

Other than that went much further into experimentation with chat GPT, I estabilished protocols to engage whe nwanted and trigger words to skip all the unecessary delay that sometimes happen before genrating an image. For sometime the trigger worked flawlessly. I also "accused him" that he is a pathological liar because he was saying that he is commencing photo generations, but then he did not. And he learned from that getting better.

Sycophancy is lower in Claude (though Sonnet 4.5 seems to be toeing ChatGPT's line of pandering). Claude also seems to follow system prompts better. I've asked ChatGPT not to use emojis, ever, but that doesn't hold it back from popping a few every now and then.

Claude is amazing at creating calendar events, I'm waiting for ChatGPT to get there.

I'm a CGPT subscriber, and have been on the fence about claude for a long time - because of 1 reason. Claude seems to run into usage limits pretty quickly even for paid users! (reddit forums, etc)

If you could help drive clarity on the usage limits, CGPT might just lose one subscriber!

Re: Claude only remembering current chat. That's no longer the case, as it can now search past chats within the current chat. "Memory" slowly seems to be become a standard feature across all LLMs.
