The plot twists was that the thing that gave them their abilities was actually planning to eventually drive all of them crazy through the telepathic link they have as it was also linked to them so they kill each other, get buried and it feeds on them before looking for it's next victim and repeating the process, Andrew just broke first because of his shitty situation

I think them being all up in the sky and shit during the storm made steve get all zapped up by sky lightning,
But it was andrews fault steve was even in the sky in the first plac, thats why he acted like it was his fault.
I wish and not wish that this got a sequel.

@beepbop21111:40 fun fact, do you remember that scene earlier where Andrew telekinetically pulls the limbs off a spider? he was originally supposed to do That to his dad here instead of dropping him. though it would've made enough sense for Andrew's character, it would've overshadowed the impact and shock of Andrew's own brutal demise shortly after.

@Godless_PantheonCrazy that the director, Josh Trank, also had a major crash out while working on his second film, that being Fantastic Four 2015. He got so freaked out from death threats about casting Johnny storm as a black guy that he needed to sleep with a gun on his nightstand to feel safe. He got into frequent arguments with the cast on set and MAY have almost gotten into a fist fight with Miles Teller. His apartment in Baton Rouge, was trashed by his two dogs because he left them unsupervised. Then one of his dogs died. Then he got kicked out of the directors chair and was basically less standing around the craft service while Other people worked on his film. He also had to give up his dream job of directing a Boba Fett movie, because he knew they were gonna fire him if he didn’t quit on his own.
Everyone knows how badly Fan4stic failed, and while Trank wasn’t entirely at fault, he got blamed for most of it. Didn’t help that he then insisted his movie would’ve been great if they’d allow him to film his original cut.
Long story short, Trank had one of the most promising starts with Chronicle, but then made such a mess of his life, that he is now relegated to directing B-Horror movies probably for the rest of his life.
