Well personally I find his comments abt bengali pronunciation ignorant and demeaning. Well bengali is a very multifaceted , nuanced and dynamic language, it in itself holds ages of heritage and cultural awakening not only for bengal but for india as a whole ( our national anthem and hymn all are in bengali). Logically bengali pronunciation naturally has to be difficult to non native speakers due to its elaborately intricate nature i.e. it has 12 vowel sounds and english for example having 5 moreover the phonetic sounds and pronunciation in Bengali are much more well constructed and definitive than most other languages in the world ( not only in india ), this we have to merge the different bengali vowels in to same english vowel due to the lack of phonetic variations in English eg. the aw (ao) and aa sound in a , for bengali is one of the richest languages in the world which to a non native person is sometimes very complex to comprehend
