Battlefield 4's Destruction is better than Battlefield 6... in some ways
Video Overview & Insights
Battlefield 4 is over a decade old, but does it still have better destruction than Battlefield 6?
I love the detailed destruction makes firefights more intense but I really do miss those large scale destruction events. I'm still upset that nobody cared when they removed the I.E.D's from railway to gulmod
In this video, I recreate the iconic hotel destruction from Battlefield 4 and try to do the same thing in Battlefield 6. I compare how much of the buildings can actually be destroyed, whether the structures can collapse, and how the destruction affects gameplay.
bf4 with the high tower collapse is still the best.

In the Haven map in BF 2042, you can completely blow up 90% of the buildings so they lie flat on the ground.
There are many things in BF 2042 in general that people don't knew that could be destroyed.
This are completely different thing… if you want to compare levolution (a scripted event) you need to do it to something like the event in Mirrak Valley or that one building on the BR map.
Blowing up a wall and such in a match are generational leagues apart of each other.
What is the soundtrack used in this clip?
@BravoSixGoingLoudI kinda preferred this. Dont get me wrong i love levolution. But for example if someone takes out the nuilding in Shanghai right at the start it kinda ruins the map.
@bdking-1997They reinforce the columns. Obviously
@baba3styleridc what anyone says but even if bf6 lacks of maps i think it's a better game than bf4
@thecreatorofallviolenceBF3 > BFBC2 > BF2 > BF2142 > BF6 > BF4 > BF1 > BF5 > BF1942 > BF2042
@x_bootch_x9728Levolution it was more marketing feature. Only few maps really have impact, and it was prescripted. In Bf6 may less scale but more dynamic destruction which I prefer more. 4 points on Tsuru Reef in Bf6 it’s like entire Hainan Resort map in BF4…
@x_bootch_x9728Bf4 the best ever.
@FreadY-KrugeR-OTI want to know who decided not to make it possible, it's not like they can't do it. They just don't want to
@matejperic3879Levolution made the whole map more realistic. And usually helped with combating campers. Lazy move from dice not including it in later entries.
@kukulkan4930Consider this: in many Battlefield 4 PC player-made servers, players were banned for shooting the pillars in Siege of Shanghai. This rule existed to prevent the skyscraper from collapsing, as most felt it would detract from the map's fun factor.
The same logic applies to Hainan Resort. While I appreciate the decision to keep the hotel fully intact, I believe the debris animations still need improvement.
The BF4 glazing is getting exhausting now
@ahzhd423I agree. Remember all BF games destruction, big or small, are all scripted. Do X damage to object, object will do Y animation.
The nice thing about the larger scale destruction events in BF4, is that it changed up the map and the map flow more. But in BF6, all these destruction events are destroying a wall causing a rubble drop... Which is nice that we have that but we are lacking bigger scale destruction.
Plus in BF6, you could make it look a lot smoother compared to what BF4 could pull off
Even tho I'd love to see more levolution events in BF6, I prefer it's current destruction, is more deliberate and controllable for the player, working as another layer of gameplay and map knowledge. Maybe they are not as big as in BF4 but have a better use and feel more realistic overall, and those maps that actually show some levolution, is in a smaller scale, but have more impact on the match, doing meaningful changes to the map and also displaying pretty cool looking visuals. More than an upgrade or a downgrade, is more like a sidestep on the destruction, both are great on it's own
@j0lx128the entire lead developed team for DICE is now ARC RAIDERS and THE FINALS
@ignacioorellana1268I am so sick and tired of people glazing this dumpster fire of a Battlefield game 4 was trash. I'll tell you why the levelotion in this game was scripted and still looks glitchy the tower in siege of Shanghai loses all the texture before it falls over so if you're still on the tower it immediately kills you no epic fights in the building while the building is falling over. Flood zone was cool but was mediocre to Bad Company 2 destruction. Battlefield 6 and Battlefield 1 and even 5 felt better than 4 in the destruction department. The fact that they gave us Battlefield 4 instead of Battlefield Bad Company 3 is criminal at least Battlefield 6 feels like Bad Company 2 . I remember when people were complaining about the scripted levelotion events and I agree with them levelotion was a big no for me it limited the maps capabilities the skyscraper in Siege of Shanghai was the only building that could be destroyed. The rest of the map felt like ground war from Call Of Duty if Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 are your first Battlefield games you are not a battlefield veteran Games like Bad Company 1/2 are the best when it came to destruction.
@SnowWolfGaming-j9eThis map is not a substitute for Hainan Resort. I hope they bring the original map
@bahriyeli9BF4 doesnt have real "level of destruction" its a scripted event and the building has 2 modes, "destroyed or intanct"
@lbpdluisthe whole game is made to look good, but feels very cheap. they got their bag and we got played yet again
@dustin0133Majority of levolutions made the maps worse so good
@alexm.a.d892BF4 Levolution is an event phenomenon that requires a separate preparation process and trigger activation to occur.
While this can maximize the visual impact, it lacks intuitiveness.
Simply attacking the BF4 Resort does not change its appearance.
Conversely, BF6 destruction causes parts to fall off as soon as they are hit, allowing for intuitive and fast operation while simultaneously providing a certain level of destruction animation.
In Red Sec, there is a building that can be completely demolished. I still don't understand why they didn't include it in the game's standard multiplayer mode.
@bozolinoBattlefield 4 thing is called "Levolution" (not destruction), it's just a marketing thing to attract more people into the game, when the real thing is just "ooohh look at the scripted destruction for 872th time!!11!", plus it makes the map and gameplay of the map worse and less fun after its activation
@theedgyskeleton577Bf6 tends to lean more into smaller, more player controlled destruction rather than scripted events like bf4's levolution (ik that levolution is caused by players but it's still more scripted and less dynamic). Ill admit, levolution looks cooler, but I do like bf6's ability to cause destruction that helps me in a specific situation
@stevensonsteven5965Bad Destruction for Battlefield 6
